MAKEUP LOOK | Clarins Aquatic Treasures Summer 2015 Collection Review and Swatches

I know that I could not get away with wearing turquoise or sea green eyeshadow in any season other than summer, but watch me try to pull this off in November! I remember getting a sneak peek of the Aquatic Treasures Summer Collection back in November 2014 when the packaging hadn’t even been completed, but the only thing I remembered was how stunning the eyeshadows were and how much I wanted that turquoise shimmer on ma face! Available as of May, the Aquatic Treasures Collection uses ocean colours to set the tone with a glowing complexion, iridescent eyes and natural lips.

The Summer Bronzing Compact* ($42.00 CDN) is probably the star of the show with its four quadrants of perfectly bronzed goodness. Like most bronzers, it is quite large and when all four shades are swirled together create the perfect bronzed look.

You can see that each shade gets progressively darker and are quite pigmented. The matte finish will also make people happy for those who prefer no shimmer. It is also very lightly fragranced with an almost floral scent.

I LOVE coloured mascaras, but having black lashes means that not many colours actually show up on them. Only in the light and on an angle, could you see this green on my lashes, but the Truly Waterproof Mascara in Aquatic Green* ($27.00 CDN) was indeed waterproof and had a light formula that did not weigh my lashes down while gaving a little bit of lift.

Final Verdict: I am a much bigger fan of the iridescent eyeshadows than the matte ones released for the Spring. Shimmer is much more interesting to me and although Clarins is known for their more conservative and classic makeup looks, the Aquatic Green is absolutely stunning and the coloured mascara an unexpected surprise. The bronzer is just gorgeous and both pretty to look at and functional! Although this was not a huge summer collection, I felt the number of products to be manageable and was able to focus on a few that I really enjoyed.

Are you normally one for coloured eyeshadow looks in the summer?
