Ah, it has been a bit quiet for me in this space this week NOT because I haven't been wanting to blog, but mainly because I haven't been home a few nights and the days at work have been jam packed with what feels like mentally stimulating activity which means that by the time I get home, my brain may as well be filled with glitter and marshmallows. I am going to attempt scheduled blogging again with my goals being Sunday and then MWF as I miss the consistency myself so wish me luck! I am also making an attempt at including makeup back into my blog posts starting with a drugstore brand I have not featured in a long time - Almay!

Though the Goddess Glosses were released last year, prismatic shades on the eye, lips and nails are making a comeback and though I haven't always been a fan of them, I can see why they would be fun to wear for the summer season for something a little different than neons or other brights. These Goddess Glosses promise hydration and a high shine that's smooth and not sticky and can even be mixed or layered to create some pretty unique gradients!
In terms of formula, I didn't find it all that revolutionary in the sense that it felt familiar. The doe foot applicator is fairly standard and picks up a small amount of product so I find myself dabbing into the tube twice to feel like my lips are fully covered. I received three shades, two of which have a more iridescent finish which I find myself enjoying especially when it comes to layering.
The first shade I tried was the bronzey "Cosmic" which looks really nice alone for a sheer neutral ethereal sheen or layered over a nude lipstick.
The next shade that I am oddly enough wearing the most is the lilac- coloured "Mystic" which I love wearing on top of nude lipsticks for a confusingly pleasant colour combination!
Finally we have the much more pigmented, but still iridescent and glowy "Dreamy" which is a very sweet-looking deep pink.
Final verdict: While the formula wasn't all that that exciting for me nor did I find this gloss all that hydrating, I quite liked "Mystic" and "Cosmic" as more affordable lipgloss options for a different kind of lip look. While I wouldn't get all of the shades, I would pick up a fun iridescent shade you feel would work with most of the lipsticks you wear and try it out! I was actually quite surprised at how weirdly pleasant my lips looked everytime I used it!
You can find Almay and the Goddess Glosses at mass drugstores across Canada.
