KBEAUTY | Lore Skin - Your Newest Canadian Stop for All Things K-Beauty!

Sponsored post

K-Beauty has truly taken the beauty space by storm in recent years and one thing I really try to do is purchase my Korean beauty products from Canadian businesses as shipping from Asia often takes longer (I have waited up to 2 months!), can get lost (granted this has only happened once to me) or you get hit with duties. This is why I was delighted to see Lore Skin, a new K-beauty e-commerce store based right here in Vancouver!

What I love about Lore Skin is that the selection of products, ranging from haircare to skincare and sunscreen, is highly curated based on efficacy, value and results rather than what's been trending on TikTok. You also know that the team has taken the time to test out each product and only if it passes the Lore Skin test does it make it into the shop! As someone who is familiar with her skincare brands, the brands and products Lore Skin carries are those that have time and time again proven themselves to be either "holy grails" or absolute must-haves in anyone's skincare routine.

When I perused through the Lore Skin website, I pretty much wanted to put everything in my cart, but I've managed to narrow it down to a couple of products that I am excited to try for the first time that look like they will be perfect additions to my skincare family (and yours)!

TOCOBO | Calamine Pore Control Cleansing Oil

I loooove the Tocobo sunscreen as well as their moisturizer and serum, but this cleansing oil I have not tried before! It is slightly pink and milky to begin with because of the soothing and oil-absorbing calamine powder, but still emulsifies and rinses off milky like a regular cleansing oil. The formula also contains coconut and olive oil creating a gentle, but plush-feeling texture to ensure skin does not feel dry after rinsing. This cleansing oil is also suitable for all skin types as a "vegan white milk" complex of rice, oat and soy extracts work to keep the skin barrier happy.

ANUA | Retinol 0.3% + Niacin Renewing Serum

Now, that I am in my 40s, I know I should be using a retinol product of some sort, but I am always concerned of how aggressive they seem to be which is why this serum from Anua caught my eye because it seemed gentle, yet effective! This is a lightweight serum that pairs 0.11-0.3% nano-encapsulated retinol (makes it more gentle on the skin) with 5% niacinamide to brighten, smooth fine lines and improve skin texture. This serum also contains ceramides and peptides to promote cell renewal and strengthen the skin barrier.

DR. ALTHEA | Vitamin C Boosting Serum

I use a vitamin C serum religiously every morning to keep my skin revitalized, even in skin tone and help with collagen production because I ain't gettin' any younger! This Dr. Althea serum contains seabuckthorn, which is high in vitamin C, as well as niacinamide and ascorbic acid to ensure skin has a youthful brightness. It also contains a whopping EIGHT types of hyaluronic acid to ensure multi-layer epidermal hydration!

While results are indeed important, over the years, texture has become increasingly important to me because I HATE a sticky vitamin C serum. This particular serum is more on the watery side and absorbs quickly, leaving the skin without a single bit of residue sitting on top, making it PERFECT for layering with moisturizer and sunscreen!

ABIB | Hydration Gel

I am more familiar with Abib for their sheet masks, but I know they make other great skincare products as well and this moisturizer caught my eye with its sleek, black aluminum tube packaging and ingredients printed right on the front. This is a lightweight gel moisturizer that is non-sticky, but is still able to hydrate the skin quickly and efficiently with ingredients like red algae and mushroom extract.

BEAUTY OF JOSEON | Relief Sun Rice Probiotics

I think EVERYONE has heard about this Beauty of Joseon sunscreen at this point, but this was actually my first time trying it and I get the hype! It has a beautiful non-greasy and hydrating texture and I basically use it as a moisturizer/sunscreen in the mornings. It is SPF 50 PA++++ and leaves absolutely zero white cast or residue making it my current favourite sunscreen to use with foundation as it does not pill! This sunscreen is also infused with 30% rice extract which is actually the second ingredient in the ingredient list which I found super interesting for a sunscreen!
