HOBBIES | February Pixyls Projects

I probably Pixyl more than I blog at this point mainly because it is a passive and meditative activity I can do when my brain is dead after work. I love Pixyling before bed with a cozy beauty or minimalist YouTube video from JenLuv or Simple Happy Zen. Every month, Pixyls has a little contest where everyone can submit, through the Discord channel, a photo or video of their completed Pixyls and win 250 Pix points. The points count towards various discount levels of 5% (500 points), 10% (1000 points), 15% (1500 points) or 20% (2000 points). I generally hold out for 2000 as it makes the most sense to me, but I also probably buy more than I should! This photo above was my February submission and as you can tell it was cat-themed!

Cozy Cafe Canvas by Neapa

This was part of a Cats and Dogs launch from early January and I was so excited because if you didn't know, I am a devoted cat mom and have been waiting for some cat-themed Pixyls to land! This canvas is about 8 x 10 inches and was super fun to do because only parts of the canvas were Pixyls which I prefer as they are a less overwhelming to complete. This was a darling little coffee scene with different animals and plants to work on and was perfect for a quick "snack size" Pixyls project!

Blue and Green Dragon Stickers by Iviqrr

These Blue and Green Dragons were a first from this particular artist, Ivi, with the style being a little less cutesy and more dark than most of the Pixyls artists featured. These are large individual stickers measuring about 5 x 5 inches and though the final results look fairly cool, many of the Pixyls were not perfectly square which led to many of the edges being uneven which drove me MAD!

This sticker sheet was SO MUCH FUN to do! This was created by a Belgian aritst who specializes in animations with chiptune music paired with animals. I am probably oversimplifying this and probably doing a terrible job trying to describe his work, but it's cool and I am hope we saw more cat-themed Pixyls from him!

I know Pixyls are not for everyone as once people see the tweezers and the little stickers start to panic, but I think you either love it or hate it. There are sets that take anywhere from 2-3 hours to canvases that are more intense!
