Review - Make Up For Ever Aqua Brow in Shade 20

It feels like forever since I have done a review of any sort thanks to the 31 Day Nail Challenge! I didn’t think doing my nails this frequently would be so much work! Today I have another product from Make Up For Ever’s newest Aqua line – the Aqua Brow Waterproof Eyebrow Corrector! I guess it makes sense that if my eyes and lips are waterproof, then my eyebrows should be too! I have a habit of rubbing my eyebrows (I have no idea why) so I rarely use any sort of eyebrow filler for fear of “moving” my eyebrows around my face!

Aqua Brow is a waterproof eyebrow corrector that fills, defines and lengthens the natural brow line. Formulated with volatile oils and carnauba wax, its creamy gel texture gives and even, natural result with a long lasting hold.

You can probably guess what my first question was when I read the product description – “what’s carnauba wax?” It comes from the leaves of a palm frond grown only in Brazil and is used in cosmetics and also candy coatings to keep them from melting. Isn’t that such a fan fact? I now have every faith that my eyebrows will not be melting or moving off my face anytime soon! I received Shade 20 in Light Brown which is quite a good match for me as a lighter eyebrow shade gives the most natural appearance.

Packaging: Squeeze tube with concentrated nozzle which is a plus because a little goes a long way with this stuff!

Scent: None that I can detect.

Formula: The product description describes it as a gel, but I think it’s closer to a cream. Again, with the products of the Aqua line, I wouldn’t wait too long to start blending the product out as it dries fairly quickly to a more waxy consistency. You can see from the swatches that it does start off quite concentrated with just a smidgeon of product so even though there is only 7mL of product in the tube, I only used maybe double a pinhead of an amount? The product was very easy to blend and of course stayed put once it set. I am excited to have eyebrows all the time now since mine are both light and sparse.

Final Verdict: It’s hard to believe that with the addition of Aqua Brow, you can pretty much go for a swim in full makeup and emerge out of the water with the same face as when you went in! The only aspect of this product I could see being a little annoying is that you either need to use a brush or fingers to blend and apply the product. This is when I can see some people opting for a pencil  instead, but if you want eyebrows that last through the apocalypse and then some, just use this. It takes a little bit more time to apply, but it’s worth it.

The Aqua Brow line is found exclusively at Sephora or at Make Up For Ever for $22.00 CDN.
