Every month I try to go through my stash and inevitably, I always rediscover some sort of makeup treasure where I either decide that it should go to another loving home OR into my makeup rotation for the next couple of weeks. When it came to the Clarins 5 Colour Eyeshadow Palette in #03 Natural Glow* ($39.00 CDN), I had a look at the shades and wondered why I hadn't used it more often! Though this palette is from the Spring collection, the current Fall 4 Colour Eyeshadow Palettes have very similar shades that can be used to recreate this smoky brown-eyed girl look.

MAKEUP LOOK | MAC Smoky Metallic Times Nine Review with Swatches
Friday, August 12, 2016
While my husband was away this week, I decided to make use of my nights alone by...playing with makeup! We work opposite schedules so I try not to do any blog related things in the evenings and do the Dr. Phil thing and "respect our marriage". However, the last few days I threw that rule out the window and lived it up!
I received the MAC Smoky Metallic x 9 Eyeshadow Palette* (0.8g each/$42.00 CDN) awhile ago and finally decided to give it a go. I like smoky eyes, but I can't say it's a look I think of doing immediately and looking at the mix of both matte and shimmery shades in this palette initially had me drawing a blank. Each individual shade was gorgeous, but putting them all together seemed a challenge.

MAKEUP | Burberry Eye Colour Contour Smoke & Sculpt Pen Review, Swatches and Look
Wednesday, June 8, 2016
This post contains affiliate links.
As much as I love playing with colourful eyeshadows, when it comes to my day to day makeup I am a neutrals gal. If I worked in the beauty industry it would be different, but even my balayaged hair pushes certain boundaries in my current work environment as I am the only younger person who styles her hair and wears actual makeup. The other day an older very straight male coworker commented on how good my brows looked. Needless to say, if I wore any other eyeshadow colours than neutrals there would be some chatter which is why my morning routine always involves a neutral eyeshadow stick. I hate mornings so even taking a brush and using powder is too time-consuming sometimes which is why I am always on the lookout for long-lasting waterproof shadow sticks like the Burberry Eye Colour Contour Smoke & Sculpt Pens ($32.00 CDN)! They actually fit the contours of my eye socket perfectly and last all day!

MAKEUP LOOK | Colourful Smoky Eye with Avon mark. On The Dot Matte Eye Color Compact Review & Swatches
Thursday, May 26, 2016
I don't know how you guys feel about Avon, but lemme tell ya, it has definitely changed since I was a little girl. With the introduction of Avon's mark. line, I have definitely been paying a lot more attention to Avon because there are a TON of cute makeup products, accessories and shoes (I have two pairs and a bag)! Makeup will be the theme for today though as I recently received the On The Dot Matte Eye Color Compact ($18.00 CDN) to try. Matte shadows are next to impossible for me to decipher at times. If there is no glitter I'm totally lost. It's like I have a derivative of colour blindness, but with glitter.
MAKEUP LOOK | Iconic UD Smoky Eyes with Urban Decay's Naked Smoky Palette
Friday, January 29, 2016
Thank goodness for being able to schedule posts because I'll tell you all a little something, I haven't blogged in over a week! I just wrapped up two 13 hour work days and I am struggling to organize myself for the next week since my Christmas tree is still up and needs to come down like NOW. In true Jayne fashion, I have had this look completed for awhile, but decided to space out all the smoky eyes I was doing over the holidays since they were all starting to look the same!

MAKEUP LOOK | Falling in Love with Mary Kay's Eye Color Palette in Metro Modern with Swatches
Monday, November 9, 2015
One of my favourite things about every Mary Kay collection is the Eye Color Palettes because the shadows are buttery and deliciously pigmented. The colours are almost always beautifully coordinated for the season and can make any woman feel like she knows what's she's doing when it comes to putting together a cohesive eye look (see my past reviews here). For this Fall 2015 season, Mary Kay has put together a colour collection inspired by the metropolitan shades of a big city. This year, the Eye Color Palettes come in two shades: City Sophisticate* ($26.00 CDN) and Metro Modern* ($26.00 CDN). Since I have really been digging the smoky eye lately, I chose to showcase Metro Modern and who can say no to that gorgeous shimmery chocolate brown!
MAKEUP LOOK | Getting Romantic for Halloween with Hard Candy's Top Ten Eyeshadow Palette in Naturally Gorgeous with Swatches
Monday, October 26, 2015
I will start off by saying that it is my two year wedding anniversary today and because it falls on a Monday, my husband and I decided to celebrate Sunday night with dinner. Seeing as how I had intended to create a Halloween look, but it needed to be appropriate enough to be seen in public at a respectable venue. So, out of the literal bucket (photo) of Halloween goodies I was sent from Hard Candy, I pulled out the Top Ten Eyeshadow Palette in Naturally Gorgeous*($6.98 CDN) and decided that the shades in here would be restaurant AND hubby approved!

GOSH Cosmetics | Lip Lacquer in Funky Lips, Crazy Volume Mascara, Prime ‘n Set and Forever Eye Shadow Stick in Plum Review, Swatches and Makeup Look
Thursday, September 18, 2014
I’m going to just say it. GOSH darnnit, I loved these new products from GOSH Cosmetics! GOSH is a Denmark-based beauty company that I am most familiar with for the coveted nail polish colour, Holographic Hero (swatch) so why I haven’t tried any other GOSH products is kind of shocking. Today I have FOUR products to share with you as well as a smokin’ hot makeup look that I wore to the grocery store just so I could test out product longevity. I was told twice by my husband and friend that I was “a little made up” for getting groceries, but if I’m going to get fruits and veggies, I may as well look big pimpin’ doing it.
