Review–Body Shop Chocomania Body Scrub

Hi!

The Body Shop’s Chocomania collection was officially released on Valentine’s Day for those of us in Canada and as much of a chocolate that I am, there were only two items from this collection that agreed with my nose: Chocomania Body Scrub ($18) and the Chocomania Lip Butter ($6). Oddly enough, I didn’t like the idea of smelling like this for hours after taking a shower so that’s why the body butter didn’t make it into my basket.

From the picture above, it really looks like you’re putting your hands into chocolate cake batter! It really does smell decadent, has some grit to it and is also very moisturizing. I find that I don’t even need to use a moisturizer after using it. The ONLY thing that I can say I didn’t like about the Chocomania Body Scrub is that while you’re using it, your bathtub looks like it’s covered in crap…it really gets everywhere and I have to make sure that I clean it all up so that my fiance doesn’t wonder what happened while I was in the shower…

What Chocomania products have you tried?

  3. I've tried their body lotion, but I can't stand the smell of it. It doesn't stink but it just doesn't agree with me...Plus, as much I LOVE consuming chocolate....I don't like smelling like it.

    1. Some of them are more of a scrub and some are both. From what I remember, Coconut, Pink Grapefruit and Vanilla Spice are more of a scrub, but Mango, Cranberry and Sweet Lemon are much more moisturizing. OMG...I've used a lot of these body butters!

  5. I have the scrub, body butter, shower gel and lip butter from this line. I got it in a tin around Valentine's Day for $20, so it was $5/product and I was ok with that. I like the scrub, but like you, hate how it messes up the tub. The body butter and shower gel I rarely use (and the shower gel doesn't smell as chocolate-y?) The lip balm was not too bad until I realized it was actually drying out my lips and I had to use more and more so I stopped. I think the Body Shop has gone downhill - I think the products were better in the 90's! (Satsuma and Dewberry, anyone ;)

    1. I like it better than the shower gel and body butter...I think you'll see what I mean, when you smell everything.

  8. I got a sample of the body butter with a purchase I made there. I liked it.. though I got more of an almond smell then chocolate. Haha love your description of you shower afterwards! I am looking for a good body scrub... is the mess worth it for the results?

    1. LOL, as a scrub it's actually pretty effective so yes I'd say it's worth it.
