September 2012 Beauty Box 5!

I was so excited for my next BB5 because my first one was so unexpectedly awesome! With so many beauty boxes out there it takes a lot to get me excited so I when September’s box finally arrived, I pretty much tore into it like a carnivorous dinosaur. I may have even growled, who knows? So, let’s see what I received shall we?

H.Wood Beauty Lip Shine in RubyDSCF4315

DSCF4316

The perfect addition to any makeup bag, this hydrating, sheer-colour lip shine is packed with nourishing ingredients like jojoba oil and mango, avocado and shea butter.

Thoughts: I really liked the packaging and how the case looks like a golden bullet. Initially, I thought this would be scarily bright because I didn’t read the product card first, but as you can see from the swatch, it’s very wearable. Application feels just like a lip balm and has a hint of shimmer to it. I definitely like this product!

Full size: $16.00/0.14oz

I received: *FULL SIZE*

Goat Haus Dairy Bath MeltDSCF4317

Taking a bath never left your skin feeling this good! Drop one of these handmade goat’s milk bath melts into your tub and relax…your skin will thank you!

Thoughts: This smells sweet and comforting and I love the idea of a goat milk bath. Can’t wait to use this!

Full size: $2.50/melt

I received: *FULL SIZE*

Silk Naturals Eyeshadow in ProwlDSCF4318

Let’s face it, a girl can never have too many eye shadows and these lovely, loose mineral shadows are no exception! Gluten free and predominantly vegan, they’re perfect for sensitive skin and great addition to your ever-growing collection!

Thoughts: Prowl is described as a “deep, dark brown with hints of red and purple”. Swatches available here. I do use mineral eye shadow on occasion and love the pigmentation they can provide. This is pretty colour, albeit a little bit dramatic for everyday wear, but it’s still quite lovely.

Full size: 0.18oz/$4.00

I received: *FULL SIZE*

Nastassja Skin Enzyme Facial PeelDSCF4319

Great for any skin type, this revolutionary facial peel is packed with free-radical fighting antioxidants and uses papaya enzyme to gently eliminate dead, dry skin cells.

Thoughts: Hmmm, I wonder how tough this will be on my skin? It smells okay, a little bit like seaweed? Since only a thin layer is required, this sample size looks like it will last for a couple of uses which is nice.

Full size: 2oz/$45.00

I received: 0.25oz/$5.63

Nume Hydro Punch Hydrating ShampooDSCF4320

Help prevent the premature signs of aging with this double duty vitamin C that promotes collagen production and brightens lackluster skin.

Thoughts: I have already received this product in a past Glymm bag and have yet to try it. The description of this product sounds like its for a face cream and not a conditioner. Hair is dead by the time it’s out of your follicle, so I guess my scalp is going to be what’s benefitting from vitamin C? In fact, the description on the back of the bottle is nothing like the description on the product card…all it says is that hair will be moisturized and nourished. That makes much more sense!

Full size: 250mL/$24.99

I received: 20mL/$2.00

Total Value of BB5: $30.13

I am totally satisfied with what I received this month as there was something for the hair, face, eyes, lips and body. What a great variety and even with the conditioner that I already had, I have the opportunity to try all new brands! I am loving BB5 and I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship :)

I really think they mixed up the description of your Hydropunch big-time... Did you have a product that fits this description last month?

  4. I love the h.wood lips lipshine too! I got Poppy which is kind of an orange tint. I was a little afraid at first but it went on sheer and made my lips so moist. I use it almost everyday now! I'm definitely thinking of picking up a few more shades. Hurray! Glad your first BB5 was amazing. :D

  7. Great box, makes me want to get this subscription. With the increased price of the Glossybox, I may just stick with that for another month or so and go on to something else.

    1. It's super sheer! Very wearable, but not as moisturizing as I thought it would be. This is when I prefer my Fresh lip treatments.

  13. Oh my gosh..you're so funny. Maybe you got prowl because they knew you were going to pounce all over this box! I wish I received ruby but I got a really really pale pink so it's even more sheer. This would add such a nice hint of natural colour!

Also..I read the back of the bottle and thought the same thing! I actually had to turn it over and make sure it was really conditioner. I even read it aloud to my husband and he had a chuckle.
