MAKEUP LOOK | MAC Future MAC Collection Review with Swatches

I don't know how all of you can keep up with MAC's many releases because there always seems to be something new from them that I want to have at least a few pieces from whether it's for the limited edition packaging or for the actual shades (in limited edition packaging!) I have taught myself to be mindful of which MAC collections I have to have and Future MAC resonated with my love of sci-fi. Tron, The Fifth Element and Battlestar Galactica are all things I have watched over and over again both for the storylines and makeup. I'm hoping people in the future still do neutral looks, but from what we have seen in most movies and TV shows, futuristic makeup is often shimmery and glowing while aliens look wet to the touch like the Borg Queen. Future MAC is just that and though I don't look like the Borg Queen, I thought I'd try a few different products that normally wouldn't make their way onto my face!

The MAC Studio Eye Gloss*($26.00 CDN) is one of the strangest products I have ever used. Temptalia gave it an "F" in every collection it has appeared in and Zoe from Writing Whimsy said it was incredibly uncomfortable to wear and remove. Well, apparently that didn't stop me from putting this incredibly glossy and sticky concoction on my eyelids. Lightly Taupe is a glossy shimmery beige pearl that gives your eyes this editorial style "wet" look. In terms of longevity, this stuff lasts FOREVER, but comfort is just a no. I didn't want to gum up my brushes so I gently patted the gloss into my eyelids which worked just fine. I used false eyelashes in my makeup look which did not agree with the eye gloss at all! The eyelash glue and eye gloss were practically repelling each other and my lashes kept lifting.

The MAC Mineralize Rich Lipstick in Touch the Earth*($28.00 CDN) is a light brown that I normally would not have chosen for a futuristic look and would have opted for silver, pale pink or white, but formula was great with the colour being incredibly pigmented and texture smooth.

The MAC Lustre Drops*($25.00 CDN) are probably my newest favourite MAC product. Though this isn't a new product to MAC, it is something I have never tried and found Barbados Girl to be the perfect shade of bronzing highlight. The texture was like water and dried very quickly, but has incredibly buildable colour.
