Review and Swatches of The Balm Balmbini Palette Vol.2

With their smokin’ hot pinup girls and more recently, debonair Matt, theBalm has got to have some of the cutest, most entertainingly packaged products I have ever seen! Their palettes should make their way into every girl’s makeup collection as I find that it is almost like owning a piece of art.

I have to be honest, I got this palette in July of 2012 and have had these pictures sitting on Dropbox since then, but that’s not to say that this isn’t a fantastic palette. I originally had wanted Volume 1, but was sold of out them at the time so Volume 2 it was!

Price: $28.00 USD

Packaging: Thick cardboard like their other palettes with magnetic closures. This palette is composed of pictures taken from theBalm’s other products which is VERY cute.

Formula: The eye shadows/liners all had velvety smooth, pigmented formulas with the exception of Jinxsy Jasmyne which had a bit of fallout when swatched. In terms of colours, this isn’t the most everyday palette as having a metallic teal and purple thrown in the mix makes it more of a party palette. The lip and cheek colours are creamy, blendable and are certainly colours that would be perfect for any makeup look.

Final Verdict: I wish that there were more eye shadow/liner colours to make this more of an everyday palette, but then again, that’s what Nude’Tude is for! To be honest, you probably don’t NEED this palette as everything in here probably exists in some form in your makeup bag, but in terms of quality and packaging Balmbini Volume 2 is “Cosmetic aProofed”!

  2. The packaging is to die for and the names are so clever and funny. I'd get more from this brand if only it wasn't so expensive : / Thanks for the review darling xx

    1. Their packaging is definitely what sets them apart from all other makeup brands. It's so playful and inviting. The price is sometimes a little hard to swallow, but it's good to know that you're geting your money's worth!

    1. They have free worldwide shipping, but you have to buy at least $100 so maybe go in with a friend?

  8. I love The Balms packaging too! They made my all time favorite summer blush but then my sephora stopped carrying them :( I can't even remember the shade :/

    1. Oh no! That's so sad. I've had that happen to me once before and I was super bummed when the salesperson told me :(

  10. The lip and cheek shades are beautiful! Unfortunately, I can't see myself wearing any of those eye colors since I gravitate towards more neutral and pastel shades. I've been wanting to check out the Balm Jovi palette they recently released, I think it would be a great addition to my collection(:

    1. Yeah I may have gotten that palette too... Lol! I agree they aren't the easiest colors to wear. I prefer neutrals as well
