January 2013 Beauty Box 5

January’s BB5 contained a surprise favourite that differed from box to box so I was quite excited to find out what I would receive. There were some great products in this month’s box so BB5 continues to impress!

 

 

Ferro Cosmetics Desert Rose Blush

Thoughts: This is a very pretty colour with a little bit of shimmer to it. I don’t think this will be suitable for my pale winter skin now, but maybe in the summer it’ll work better as a blush. I could definitely use it as a lip colour though if I mix it with some clear lip balm.

Pencil Me In Eye Pencil in 24 Karat

Thoughts: I don’t like this colour very much…I just don’t know how often I’d use it. I like my gold eye pencils on the less yellow side, but I think if this were a different colour I’d be much more into it.

Model Co Colourbox Lip Pencil in Pomegranate

Thoughts: I don’t normally use lip liners, but when I swatched this, it’s actually a pretty shimmery colour that felt very smooth and blended very nicely. I would almost want to use it as a lipstick too with some gloss overtop!

Perfumies Solid Perfume Sticks in Flirtationship

Thoughts: Hands down my favourite product in January’s BB5! I want to order so many more! The Perfumies website describes Flirtationship as “spicy, exotic and crisp top notes of orange zest and fresh greens highlight a feminine bouquet of jasmine, orchid, vanilla and violet on a warm background of rosewood, sandalwood, and soft musk”. I love the scent and the idea of a lip balm feel for a perfume.

*Surprise* Purlisse Gentle Soy Milk Cleanser

Thoughts: This was the surprise for BB5ers as it varied from box to box, but I am glad that I received something that I hadn’t tried before! I have seen this in earlier boxes before my subscription started with BB5 and had wanted to try it.

I will admit that even though this box doesn’t look or feel like one over $50, I still thought it was a great one with another great variety of products for the whole face to enjoy!
