March Luvs

Not much makeup this month, but I have picked up a couple of things in the last week that will DEFINITELY be making it into April’s Luvs post! To tell you the truth, I feel like I’ve been surviving each day by the skin of my teeth with the fiscal year wrapping up. There are always so many little things to do that I am breathing a sigh of relief as I type this as I can finally have this week be a fresh start. Here are the things that have contributed to my sanity this past month!

eos Lip Balm in Sweet Mint

I will admit that like a lot of people I love these for the packaging and shape of the actual lip balm. I love a good mint tingle on my lips and this certainly provides the experience, but is not all that hydrating. If you have some really chapped lips, this lip balm will not be enough to soothe them.

beautyblender Make Up Sponge

I got this almost a year ago in an ebeauty.ca haul and only started using it when I was introduced to MUFE’s Pro Finish Powder. Pro Finish does include a sponge applicator, but I found that the beautyblender was better able to more evenly provide the coverage I wanted especially in the nooks and crannies around my nose. I honestly don’t know what I would without it now. I don’t need any other tools for foundation application, just the beautyblender.

Lancome Artliner in Noir

I’ve talked about this eyeliner before last year and wasn’t quite sold on it then, but it has actually been my “comfort” liner this past month. I actually trust myself with it even with I’m not fully conscious in the mornings. I have said before that at $39, I would not repurchase it for the price, but now I don’t think I can say the same thing. I’ve really come to love the flexible felt liner and of course its staying power. For a product that lasts awhile and I’ll use everyday, I’ll spend a little more.

Real Techniques Multi-Task Brush

I have been using this for blush and I love it! These brushes are all the rage on the blogosphere and they have earned every one of their accolades! The bristles are soft and distribute the colour softly and evenly. I haven’t used another blush brush in months!

Yes to Blueberries Age Refresh Brightening Facial Towelettes

I use facial wipes fairly frequently and softness, scent and how fresh I feel after using them are mainly what I look for in a great facial wipe. When it comes to softness, these are THE softest wipes I have used yet and I have used A LOT of different brands. They don’t have that “grit” to them that some wipes do (Korres, Simple and Skyn). These are so soft that I can rub as hard as I need to and my skin stays happy. I may as well be rubbing clouds on my face! The scent is lemon and apple which is both interesting and refreshing and best of all, my face feels CLEAN afterwards.

Origins Spearmint and Lemon Hand Lotion

This is part of a trio of hand creams I picked up in February at Shoppers not only is the scent refreshing, but moisturizing without being greasy. If this came in a bigger size and wasn’t limited edition I would be all over it. I will truly mourn this tube when it becomes an empty.

AG Hair Cosmetics Repair Serum Keratin Anti-Breakage Sealant

This is a fairly new product for AG and is honestly something I didn’t think I would use as often as I have been. It’s unclear from the product name what it is supposed to do, but essentially its intent is to instantly repair split ends and overtime reduce hair breakage by increasing elasticity. I always thought a split end never went away unless you got a trim, but I guess this serum claims otherwise. The overall result is hair that is glossy and silky.  You can use it in dry or damp hair and let it either air or blow dry. Surprisingly, I have been using it for about 3 weeks and the first thing I noticed was how baby soft my hair was. I have coarse hair that can weave its way through couch cushions so this is saying something! Come to think of it, I haven’t actually had a lot of hair breakage so maybe it IS working!

AG Hair Cosmetics FastFWD Dry Shampoo

This sprays on clear which is the first thing I look for in a dry shampoo for my black hair! It also smells almost “icy and cool” as the scent is difficult to describe. You’ll just have to believe me when I say it’s good!

  2. Hey! I'm loving your March Luvs!!! I personally have recently started using the Beauty Bleanding Sponge with my MUFE HD Foundation and I'm in love at how well it blends and gives me a flawless look. Real Technique brushes are some of my favorites as well. The bristles are perfectly soft, yet holds a nice amount of product. I would love to try the Spearmint and Lemon Hand Lotion by Origins, I'm always looking for something to moisturize my hands without that greasy feeling! Great Post!!!

    1. The beauty blender has really changed how I feel about foundation because I didn't think it would be any better than a regular flat sponge, but it is!
I love it when my lips tingle, but not tingle to the point that lip plumpers make them. That's just too much!

  14. I absolutely love the beautyblender. I thought it was an overhyped sponge until I finally got one. I'm hooked! I'm curious about the dupes and if they're as good.

    1. I know, I thought it was overhyped too and even had it in my posession for months before trying it out for real! I guess we have a dupe now in our Spring Luxe Box so we can try it out!

  15. What a great bunch of products! I feel the same way about ArtLiner, even though the price tag makes me cringe the product is fantastic. I will have to remember to try the wipes, I've tried the Cucumber version - but never the Blueberry.

Sigh, I never thought I'd like the beauty blender as much as I do, but it's really changed how I apply foundation.
