When it comes to timing, 2020 and probably most of 2021 is going to be a bit of a mess with delays and closures being the norm now so continue to treat those of us in the retail sector with kindness because it's not our fault that we cannot get you what you want or even guarantee a delivery date like pre-COVID times. When it comes to blogging and social media, I haven't adhered very closely to a time for things because like many people, I am taking things day by day and even though I look at a calendar every day, I don't think my brain truly registers the passage of time because every weekend sort of surprises me! When it came to posting about Christmas and holiday releases, I only did three posts because I just wasn't sure what December would be like. Because of this, and the delays with Canada Post, I also did not want to request any additional PR as there would have been no guarantee that I would even get a chance to share holiday releases before the holidays which is why it was a delightful relief when the YSL Holiday 2020 Collection was sent to me in early January. All of the items are still available online so everything here is still relevant and thankfully so because the packaging is just so damn pretty!
Fusion Ink Cushion Foundation Illuminator*
I was a bit confused about what this was at first because the word "foundation" was in the description, but typically a cushion foundation would be much bigger. After actually opening the package and tapping the product on my skin, I realized that this was a skin illuminator that delivered quite a bit of glow in just a few taps!
The formula itself is super lightweight so on those rare days that I wear makeup below my eyes (meaning when I'm at home or doing a makeup look for the blog), I have enjoyed tapping this just on top of my regular liquid foundation for some extra glow. I just wish the shade of the glow was a bit warmer.
Touche Eclat Radiant Touch*
This is an iconic product for YSL and one that I feel really made me pay attention to them. This is essentially a liquid highlighter, but very natural in finish. This pen lets you pinpoint exactly where your skin needs a bit of reviving and can also be used to touch up your makeup throughout the day.
Rouge Volupte Shine Oil-in-Stick*
These are similar to the Rouge Volupte Rock N Shine (review) except without the glitter core. These are a shiy, hydrating balm but with more pigment than you would think! The formula is super smooth and gives lips that wet shine. Packaging is exquisite for these! I also love that you can see what colour the lipstick is just by looking at the packaging!
