SHEET MASK | The Face Shop Real Nature Masks: Lotus, Red Ginger, Green Tea, Potato and Aloe

The Face Shop Real Nature Sheet Masks have been serious Korean skincare staples for what feels like all of my skincare journey so for anyone starting out with sheet masking, these masks are super affordable and easy to find online and in person to purchase. There are 24 sheet masks in the Real Nature series each with a different plant extract being featured to target specific skin concerns like hydration, soothing and firming. Though I would like to eventually try all 24 of these masks, I have five to share with you today that are a great summary of what the collection is all about!

Lotus

This is a hydrating mask featuring lotus flower extract which purifies while leaving the skin moisturized and fresh. This mask is great for dull or tired skin which honestly feels like my skin every week.

Red Ginseng

This is a firming mask containing red ginseng extract that works to smooth and perk up skin. I thought there would be a higher level of tackiness with this mask considering the target skin concern, but it was fairly similar to the Lotus Sheet Mask.

I wanted to include a mask selfie of the Red Ginger as the essence was tinted reddish brown so it looks like I have a bit of a tan going on!

Green Tea

Green tea contains antioxidants and is an anti-inflammatory so anytime I see this in skincare, I get very excited. This mask focuses on hydration while soothing due to environmental stressors.

Potato

I have a soft spot for this potato mask because I love potatoes so much! I could eat them for every meal and be happy and in any form whether it'd be roasted. mashed or boiled. I never thought they could be useful in skincare, but apparently they contain an enzyme called catecholase that can help with dark spots and/or circles. However, there are no human studies that solidly prove this. In the case of this mask though, the potato pulp extract is intended to "cool skin that has been exposed to sun". Honestly, I did not find this mask any more cooling than the others, but it was quite hydrating.

Aloe

If you aren't sure which mask to start with in this massive collection, you can never go wrong with Aloe. This mask is especially nice on sensitive skin with its soothing and hydrating properties.

Final verdict: These are great masks for great value. Lots to choose from so there is something for everyone. The mask fit is decent, not the best, but close to it and the five I tried were all quite hydrating. I didn't really see too much of a difference between each one, but I think there was some overlap with the goals of each mask so it makes sense that they would be similar. All in all, I would definitely recommend these!
