I have always liked eyeshadows in stick form because my God are they ever convenient when it comes to covering an eyelid and then quickly lining my lower lash line! In the mornings when I cannot be bothered to think of what sort of colour scheme will go on my eyelids, I know that an eyeshadow stick won't let me down. When it came to colour selection and staying power, I first used the Urban Decay 24/7 chubby eyeshadow sticks and then when those got discontinued, I became obsessed with MAKE UP FOR EVER's Aqua Shadows which were essentially the same thing. Then my favourite shade 20E got discontinued (it was this metallic champagne) and replaced with something close in the Aqua Matic collection, but still wasn't the same. The closest I have come to is the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Shadow in the shade Moonlight which brings us to the beginning of my Caviar Stick relationship and how one stick became four!
This is a long-wearing, super creamy to apply eyeshadow stick that can be used as a liner, highlighter and of course eyeshadow. The colour payoff is INTENSE with a formula that allows for some blending as it isn't as sticky as the shadow sticks from MUFE. These are supposed to be crease-resistant, transfer-proof and come in 28 shades with three different finishes: shimmer, metallic and matte.
I have three shades in the shimmer finish: Peacock, Moonlight and Plum and one matte shade in Au Naturel. Moonlight is the shade I use the most as I love the champagne finish as an eyeshadow and also as a highlighter on the inner corners of my eyes and browbone. The rounded tip of these eyeshadow sticks and smooth formula make it easy to fill in the eyelid and give a softness to your line when lining the lower lashline. Usually I have to use a smudger brush to blend, but I don't really have to do that when using these eyeshadow sticks.
In terms of longevity, they do last almost all day, but not quite as intensely as the MUFE ones or the Burberry Eye Contours which are the ones that last the longest on me without any primer. The colour does start to fade a bit whether I wear primer or not, but not in a way that is immediately noticeable.

Final verdict: Despite not being able to last as long in colour intensity as some other brands I have tried, the Laura Mercier eye shadows are still among my favourites to use because of their incredible colour assortment, formula, relatively all-day wear and overall ease of use! I think I need a magenta shade now!
