SHEET MASK | Steambase Manuka Honey Propolis Perfect Shield Mask

Just when I think I have caught up with the world of sheet masks, I realize that in the world of Kbeauty, I will NEVER catch up. I don't know how people manage to keep up with the sheet masks that are out there because I have been trying to make room in my office for two years now! I went a bit crazy buying every brand and mask under the sun and I am seeing the error of my ways in terms of lack of moderation. The pandemic changed a lot of things for me and even though I still buy the occasional sheet mask(s), I am nowhere near the level of acquisition I was at before and I am grateful. I did allow myself a large YesStyle purchase back in November of last year as I had my eye on a few Kbeauty products including a new-to-me brand called Steambase. I was immediately attracted to their hexagon logo and minimalistic packaging. Their brand promotes skin balance and health using thermal spring water and botanical ingredients.

Purchased by me

I picked up a three masks from Steambase, the first being the Manuka Honey Propolis Perfect Shield Mask because I LOVE honey masks in all forms for their scent and anti-inflammatory properties. I did not realize this was a biocellulose mask until I took it out of the package as I didn't do much research on the mask prior to purchasing, but I always love a good biocellulose mask and this one turned out to be better than most I have used.

In addition to thermal hot spring water from Korea's Onyang Hot Springs, this mask also contains 30mL of essence containing manuka honey and propolis to improve a dull complexion, give a boost a extra hydration without leaving the skin feeling sticky or to calm red and irritated skin. In short, honey masks are always a good thing!

Final verdict: I thought this mask was on the more expensive side for a regular sheet mask, but now that I know it is a biocellulose mask that it on the thicker side, I see can understand the price point a bit better as thicker biocellulose masks are better quality thanks to the longer fermentation process. I loved the scent as well and the hot spring water being the first ingredient made it feel like an extra bougie mask. As a first impression of the brand, I am pleased with the results of this mask and look forward to sharing my thoughts on the other two Steambase masks I have!
