It is the third week of my attempting #LunarFebruary and even though I miss having a feed of Valentine's pink and red, the only thing I have really liked about Valentine's Day was the nail art. I find the nail art that people have done, that I have done so much fun to do and it's all so cute! This year, I am also enjoying all of the dragon-themed stuff that brands have come out with like LEGO and their "Auspicious Dragon" and Coach with their embroidered dragon clothing and bags. Then there is Fendi with their Pokemon theme! I am dying over here, but I can't justify spending $4000 on a bag that I know I won't really use so I will have to admire from afar. 

Back when Beauteque was still doing subscription boxes, I received a few masks from the Korean brand Botanic Farm and I will admit that I didn't bother looking at these masks after unboxing because they didn't look as interesting as the other masks I had on hand. After organizing my sheet masks last summer and finally going through what Beauteque had sent me over the years until they vanished (they were very generous), I found these three masks and thought they would be a good group to review together. Maybe I am now in my peaceful era as I enter my 40s and seeing packaging that looks zen and meditative is attractive.

Tea Tree Mask*

What makes this mask special? This mask contains tea tree extract which is known to be clarifying, yet calming to the skin. I have always loved the scent of tea tree oil so even though I don't seek out clarifying masks with tea tree extract, I enjoy them anyway for their aromatherapeutic properties. 

I only took photos of one mask because they are all the same beautifully seamless fit! The mask material is made of natural cellulose and described as having a "micro-pore layer" of 10-20 microns thick that allows the essence to be absorbed into the skin. The fit of all three masks was oh-so-nice and when you look at the photos, they just blend right into the skin! For masks that were $1 each, OMG they are NICE!

Mask Summary:

Price: I think these were like $1 USD so VERY affordable for the quality!

What it does: Calms and clarifies

Scent: Slightly tea tree like and my husband says "like teenage acne medication, but in a good way"

Essence Type: Clear, slightly viscous, but more on the watery side

Duration: 25 minutes

Thickness: Thin - almost translucent

Mask Fit: Good! There were a few creases I couldn't smooth out, but other than that, the mask sat on my skin very well.

Tackiness: None whatsoever!

Hydration: Okay, but I felt like I needed an additional boost of hydration for my normal/dry skin.

Other notes: N/A

Aloe Mask*

What makes this mask special? Not only does this mask have moisturizing and calming aloe, there is also grapefruit extract, white tea extract and hyaluronic acid in the formulation. The lower half of the ingredients list is also filled with plant extracts like ginkgo biloba, peach and Japanese honeysuckle extract. While alcohol is at the top of the list, I did not find this mask drying at all!

Price: I think these were like $1 USD so VERY affordable for the quality!

What it does: Moisturizing, soothing and elasticity

Scent: None

Essence Type: Clear, slightly viscous, but more on the watery side

Duration: 25 minutes

Thickness: Thin - almost translucent

Mask Fit: Good! 

Tackiness: None

Hydration: Good! My skin felt happy!

Other notes: N/A

Rice Mask*

What makes this mask special? The rice LOL! Rice is brightening and refreshing and traditionally I have always been a fan of a rice in my skincare as I do find my skin responds well to it. This was also the most hydrating mask of the group!

What it does: Brightening

Scent: Sort of floral

Essence Type: Clear, slightly viscous, but more on the watery side

Duration: 25 minutes

Thickness: Thin - almost translucent

Mask Fit: Good! There were a few creases I couldn't smooth out, but other than that, the mask sat on my skin very well.

Tackiness: Light and because it was a VERY dry night, I did use a bit of moisturizer on top.

Hydration: Pretty good on its own, but I just wanted an extra boost.

Other notes: N/A

Final verdict: Once again, I have reviewed a mask that I LOVE that I cannot seem to find anymore. Why do these sheet mask companies disappear after like two years?! The value of these masks were fantastic and the fit and results were right up my alley in terms of not being tacky and being able to layer with existing skincare. Luckily, I have other sheet masks that make me happy, but they sure aren't $1!
