As I write this, I have been back from Montreal two days and I am still struggling with the jet lag. I was up at 5:17am PST and could not fall back asleep so I went with the flow and just decided to get up. If I had been working, I would have stayed in bed as I am still feeling tired, but not tired enough to sleep as I just want to hit the ground running with catching up at both work and in the house! I made sure to do as many household tasks as I could before leaving so that we didn't come home to a messy apartment. We had a cat sitter come in once/day for the cats and she left everything really neat and clean so we were truly able to relax right when we got home.

I don't think I could ever get sick of the K-Pop Demon Hunters theme and now that Anua has partnered up with them on some of their most popular products, I will enjoy the gimmicky packaging and the ongoing song "Golden" in my head every time I use a KDH-themed product (and there are a lot)!

I am cheating a little bit here because I have reviewed one of these Mediheal sheet masks in the past, but because today's masks had limited edition BTS packaging, I wanted to give them their own review! It has been about 7 years since the Mediheal x BTS collaboration was announced, so I think I picked up these masks between 2018-2020 and have been sitting on the reviews since. These two masks were the last ones in the boxes of 10 I purchased so it seemed fitting to give them a sendoff review worthy of how much I enjoyed them!

SHEET MASK | The Face Shop Character Masks: Puppy, Pig and Monkey

We have just experienced our first FIFA weekend! The last time I saw Vancouver host something on such a large scale was the 2010 Olympics and for a city that is so small, I do not know how we manage to fit so many people inside it! Last weekend, while I was driving into work, I saw this MASSIVE line that wrapped all around Waterfront station and onto West Cordova. Easily 1000 people and what was the line for? Compass "cards" in the shape of soccer ball keychains! Cute, but you will NEVER catch me wasting my Saturday morning (or any morning really) waiting in the rain for something like that! It was pouring rain too!

Not gonna lie. These Face Shop sheet masks are old AF, but I honestly barely noticed a difference between using them now and like 8 years ago (I had extras from before). I know a lot of people get scared about using expired skincare products, but I have never had anything bad happen with my skin or noticed anything "off". I think there is something about sheet masks because they are sealed and the packaging is usually lined with foil which seems to preserve all masks in a way that I have never seen with any other type of skincare.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! It's shaping up to be a nice, sunny day today so I am looking forward to having a nice long walk with my husband today. Something we try to do every Sunday though I know that when it's raining or I have had a particularly tiring week, I tend to be very grumpy when we do them. I am counting on being a better mood tomorrow as the last few days have been socially draining, but in a positive way. I am just an introvert who needs to recharge so I am hoping to feel ready to go on Monday!

C'est la weekend! It has been kind of a quiet two weeks for me at work and while I am always a little apprehensive whenever my boss is away, this time around with a much nicer team, it has been relatively low stress. In terms of clients, it hasn't been that busy mainly because it was Spring Break followed by the Easter long weekend followed by 18 degree sunny weather, so people were out and about and I don't blame them! The relaxedness of the last two weeks has given me more energy to get back to a more regular sheet mask routine which has been really nice as I finally got a chance to try the 107 Beauty sheet mask that I have wanted to try for awhile!

One of those items were these A by Bom patch masks that I purchased 7.5 years ago...yeah, I know. I must have been really tired on Sunday because this post was pretty much ready to go, but I feel like the day just went by really quickly and then suddenly it was 4pm, dark outside and I wanted a nap! Today is my day off, but I am actually leaving my cave and going to a Pixi Beauty event later on just to prove to myself that I can be social and because Pixi has some fun looking new releases I want to see!

It has been extremely wet and rainy these last few days so staying indoors and cleaning has not been the hardest thing in the world to do while I am on my "forced" vacation. I only say "forced" because the other manager and I realized that neither one of us had taken any vacation days since August! November and December is a blackout period for us in retail, but the fact that neither one of us had taken any was a bit of a surprise to me and then I realized that this is the FIRST year where we didn't have that horrible employee of ours! I usually would use a few vacation days every month just to escape work and seeing that awful woman's face/dealing with abusive emails, but now work is enjoyable so there is nothing more to escape!

The first week of December is down and we are literally weeks away from the end of 2025 - like what? Noooo! How is it that it's DE-freakin-CEMBER now?! One more month of 2025 that, let's face it, will be gone in a flash! What they say is true - that time moves so slowly as a kid and then it just starts whizzing by as you get older. I think this is partly what has caused me to regain a new sense of purpose with the blogging because in just 5 years, I've already noticed my tastes change (*ahem* no more crazy colour cosmetics) so now is the time to talk about what I love, use, hate etc before I just feel indifferent and cannot be bothered to discuss it!

I was SO EXCITED when I saw that I had been selected for a YesStyle x Anua campaign because I had just tried the Anua Peach 70% Niacin Sheet Mask, LOVED it and wanted to try more from this super trendy KBeauty brand! The products featured today are specifically for a routine targeting hyperpigmentation and brightening and while I haven't had the chance to use them long enough to see results, my experience so far has been promising!

Who can resist a mask with such pure positivity in its name?! And it's a baby shark which automatically makes the "Baby Shark Du Du Du" song run through my head! The Creme Shop is still one of the more accessible sheet mask brands that does printed masks fairly regularly so when I saw this one at Miniso, I had to grab it because of the cuteness factor!

OMG, it has been soooo busy at work these last two weeks! Don't get me wrong, I love the client aspect of it, but it is the admin side and the constant worry that I have forgotten something that stresses me out! Plus, I find this is the time of year where because things are frantic, staff get messy, forgetful and their brains stop functioning. I will say that it truly is a skill to keep your brain working under stressful periods. Basic math can go out the window or you suddenly forget how to do things you've known how to do for years. One thing that I have NOT forgotten to do is to hydrate my lips especially overnight! Don't you love my super smooth segue?

I don't know what happened, but out of the blue in July of this year, I received an email from Yesstyle for a Jumiso gifting campaign that involved posting a review to Instagram about the products I received. I thought sure, why not and then remembered my love for Yesstyle and placed a personal order in August. Since August, I have received three more gifting campaigns all from K-beauty products I have either been super curious about. I don't know why I am suddenly receiving all of this attention despite my slowdown in blogging and the social media space in general, but it actually has been kind of fun now that I don't receive as much PR.

It has been awhile since I have featured a sheet mask from a new-to-me brand, but one that I have been seeing all over social media for awhile now - Anua! I don't really know how to describe Anua as many of these newer, TikTokey, Instagrammey Korean beauty brands tend to have the same aesthetic of minimalist packaging and a focus on ingredients, but that's kind of what Anua is! Their ingredients are actually what caught my eye and I am delighted to say that I am now a fan even with just this one single product!

As I am writing this, it is the first Sunday in November and I have been up since 6:30am thanks to DST which for this one day makes me feel incredibly efficient! I was more familar with the brand d'Alba for its First Spray Serum, but while I was in a cute little Kbeauty store at Pacific Centre, I saw singles of the White Truffle Nourishing Treatment Mask and wanted to try it out! Having loved the scent of the First Spray Serum, I had every hope that the sheet mask would have the same scent!

I got sick this past Wednesday and five days in, I think I am on the tail end of things, but I'm still very congested and coughing. I don't know WHERE I managed to catch this as no one at work is sick AND I have been on my own at home for the past two weeks as my husband has been traveling. I drive to work and don't take transit so the only place left is the handful of clients I have interacted with over the last 2 weeks which seems unlikely, but I suppose not impossible. I have been suffering a little on my own and I am glad to see some light at the end of the tunnel!
