LYS Triple Fix Serum Skin Tint Stick
Purchased by me

Though I don't play around with makeup as much as I used to, foundation is the one thing I am always tempted by even though I feel like there is nothing I haven't tried at this point! I first started seeing LYS Beauty while we were in the midst of the pandemic and looking for more BIPOC brands.

Founded by Trish Thompson, LYS Beauty is a clean-beauty brand (but, you know how much I hate that term), and is well known for their complexion-focused makeup products, inclusive shade range and easy-to-use, straightforward makeup that celebrates "the skin we are in"!

I have gotten progressively lazier with my morning makeup routine these last two years, so I often gravitate towards "quick-everything" products especially foundation. Yes, sometimes I still take out my makeup sponge and pounce on some product, but I now mostly prefer a stick and LYS was on my list to try! As an Ipsy subscriber, they often give access to full sized products for a discounted price and even with the exchange rate, this $12 USD foundation stick was still less than what I would pay at Sephora ($39 CDN plus taxes)!

LYS Triple Fix Serum Skin Tint Stick

The Triple Fix Foundation Stick (we don't need all those other words) is described as an all-in-one serum, primer and foundation with flexible and buildable coverage. Apply one swipe for sheer coverage, two for medium and three for full. You can blend with a brush, finger or brush - I prefer the brush, but I do use my fingers to pat around my undereyes when I use this as a concealer.

Key ingredients include: Green Tea Extract to soothe and hydrate skin while reducing the appearance of redness, Watermelon Seed Extract to maintain skin's moisture levels and Rosehip Oil containing vitamin A, C and E to help reduce the appearance of dark spots.

With foundation sticks, the main feature is the texture. Is it smooth or does it drag? This is a thick, balm-like texture that if I were to compare it to the Dior Foundation Stick (review), this formula does take a little bit more force to blend into the skin. Not much, but enough that I notice the extra effort in my wrist. The coverage is solid though and lasts all work day without breaking down. I actually think that in terms of longevity, this foundation looks better at the end of the day than the Dior one. Shocking, eh?

LYS Triple Fix Serum Skin Tint Stick Review

I am wearing the shade LN3, which I think is a touch too light for me, but when blended out looks like a good match. I am probably going to use this whole thing up so the next time I purchase, I think I will grab MN1 which is in their Medium shade range vs. Light just to see if that works better with a bit of a summer tan. Although, I just took the LYS Beauty shade finder test online and it matched me up again with LN3 LOL!

Final verdict: I would absolutely get this foundation again for sure! I love the applicator and the chiseled triangular shape that makes it easy to really get into the undereye and nose junction. The formula is longwearing, but feels lightweight and most of the time I like my skin to look just a little more even and not cakey which this foundation does. And most importantly, it is incredibly fast to apply in under 1 minute! Sold!
