SHEET MASK | Anua x KPop Demon Hunters Eternal and Golden Honmoon Collagen Mask

I was not immune to the hype of Kpop Demon Hunters both with the movie and the music! My husband and I watched the movie last year and as big Kpop fans in general, had all of our expectations fulfilled and more! I am still not sick of the song "Golden" and I love that EJAE has finally gotten all of the recognition she deserves! A Grammy AND Oscar?! How much better could it get?!

I know that the merch that comes along with successful movies like these is a bit of a money grab, but when I saw these Anua sheet masks on Sephora during the VIB Sale, the pricing was reasonable and seemed like a fun skin experience! 
 

What makes this mask special? This gel mask contains vitamin C, 5% niacinamide and collagen. It also has a pearl-like finish so you can "shimmer at all angles", though I don't think this really does anything other than make the sheet mask a more fun experience. It also has a cooling effect due to the gel material, but I was literally able to see just how COLD my skin was!

The plastic covering preventing the mask from sticking to itself has wavy lines on it which if you have watched the movie, is meant to represent the Honmoon which is a magical net or barrier created with resonating human souls when Huntrix creates music that moves people's hearts. This Honmoon keeps the demons from entering the human world and I thought it was a cute way to incorporate the movie into the mask!

As you can see, the mask has a pearly finish which looks REALLY cool! I also used the extra eye and mouth pieces for my chest because why waste such perfectly good mask bits?!

What it does: Brightens and cools the skin

Scent: Lightly floral, but I could barely smell anything once the mask was on my face.

Essence Type: Clear and watery 

Duration: 30 minutes or until the mask gets a bit thinner.

Thickness: Thicker than the hydrogel masks you see where you leave them on overnight, but not bad.

Mask Fit: Tiny chin goatee, but other than that, it did not move around or move south.

Tackiness: Super light

Hydration: Good! 

Other notes: My skin was so brightened that I look almost pale like a ghost (in a good way)!

What makes this mask special? This mask contains collagen, panthenol and ceramides and is one of those masks that you are actually supposed to leave on either overnight or for 2-3 hours which was not really clear in the teeny, tiny instructions. I rant more below! I ended up treating this mask like a 30 minute mask so unfortunately did not reap the full benefits of what this mask was supposed to provide.

This mask had the Golden Honmoon lines which, in the movie, was originally thought to be the only way to permanently seal off the human world from demons. The Honmoon is usually a blue-ish colour, but if enough souls are moved by the music of Huntrix, this blue can change to gold. In the movie, it ends up being a rainbow symbolizing the diversity and individuality of every soul. I mean, what a beautiful story!

Scent: Lightly floral, but I could barely smell anything once the mask was on my face.

Duration: Until mask becomes transparent which is about 2-3 hours. I only left this on for 30 minutes because I assumed it was like the last mask!

Thickness: Thicker than the hydrogel masks you see where you leave them on overnight, but not bad.

Mask Fit: Tiny chin goatee, but other than that, it did not move around or move south.

Tackiness: None

Hydration: My skin felt dry so I applied Skoah Dream Kream on top, but at the time I didn't realize that this mask had to be left on for much longer so my skin probably would have felt more hydrated had I done the full 2-3 hours!

Other notes: I felt like the instructions were a bit unclear as it didn't say a specific time, but just showed the time in a photo of a quarter circle being used up which could also mean 15 minutes! I think they tried to hide the time on purpose to make this mask more marketable.

Final verdict: The Eternal Honmoon mask is one I will use again! Loved the extreme cooling effect on my skin and how hydrated it felt afterwards. The Golden Honmoon mask I feel would have been nice if I had left it on for the 2-3 hours that was recommended, but the thing is that I hate "long term" masks. An hour with those Dr. Jart Cryo masks was already a bit of a commitment for me, but 2-3 hours seems a bit excessive and I feel like if I don't have time for it, I doubt anyone with kids or just more going on in their lives would as well.
