MAKEUP | 5 Lipsticks That Look Like Crap On Me (With Ugly Lip Swatches of Course!)

This was a post idea that had been brewing in my head since last year when I was doing my beauty clean out and seeing so many strange shades of lipstick emerge from my collection. There was the time of the unicorn hair and crazy lip shades that I really wanted to be able to pull off, but in reality were just something fun to experiment with and bring out for Halloween. When NYX came out with their Cosmic Metals Collection, it was one of the more adventurous posts I worked on (crazy lips here) as I was also enjoying my purple/blue hair, but I think I've mellowed out a bit now as my hair was starting to die from all of the bleaching and now I am left with lip colours that I feel some could pull off, but not this gal. Keep on reading to see what I mean...

MAKEUP | Kat Von D #StuddedKiss Influenster Voxbox

When it comes to "cool" makeup, Kat Von D is right up there. While I haven't been a huge fan of hers post Sandra Bullock/Jesse James scandal, I do admire what she has done with her makeup brand. I feel like she was one of the first to come out with more dramatic lipstick shades and give makeup more of an edge while staying relatively mainstream. KVD lip products have always been consistently pigmented, long-lasting and one of my favourite go-tos for lipwear and last month a new formula for the Studded Kiss Creme Lipstick* ($23.00 CDN) emerged!

FRAGRANCE | Kat Von D Saint + Sinner Voxbox #TheResurrectionIsReal

I still have incredibly mixed feelings about Kat Von D. I really liked Sandra Bullock and while we have no idea what may have been going on with her and Jesse James, I can't help but think of that drama when I think of KVD. When it comes to her makeup brand and what she has done in the world of cosmetics, I have to say I am impressed. She was one of the first brands that I tried that had edgier shades of lipsticks and eyeshadows and I truly believe that KVD remains heavily involved with her brand despite how massive it has gotten.

While I have never been a die hard fan of KVD, her Tattoo Liner in Trooper is something I always use and have in my collection simply because it just IS one of the best liquid liners on the market. If this were ever discontinued, I would probably be just as crazed as the fans who 8 years ago were devastated when Saint and Sinner fragrances were discontinued. Both of these scents have been brought back to life this summer with the ONLY change being completely revamped gothic-inspired bottles.

Holidays at Sephora | Gift Sets from Boscia, Kat Von D and Atelier Cologne OH MY!

I'm not very good at holiday gift guides because I always want to talk about one thing at a time, but as much as I wanted to devote a single post to each one of these glorious gift sets, my work schedule is bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S. I am not disciplined enough to get up at 6am to blog and with hubby away in Montreal seeing his family, I have been having trouble sleeping. Someone told me to go and pick up a body pillow since I am missing the presence of a body in the bed. Cat sandwiches just don't cut it.

I thought these gift sets were pretty cute and made me really happy when I received them so I thought I would share the love!
