JEWELRY | My Everyday Rings #NaBloPoMo

I will preface this by saying that although I have dabbled in a few professions over the years including: bioinformatician, social media and e-commerce specialist and skincare rep and trainer, the one job I have had the longest is in the luxury jewelry industry. I wouldn't say it's my passion, but I like it enough as long as I still have the freedom to do the beauty stuff. I am part of a great management team and when it comes to understanding people and true client service, the jewelry industry has taught me the most.

When it comes to WHERE I spend the bulk of my disposable income, it would be without a doubt on skincare and jewelry. I rarely wear costume jewelry and though I do not want to sound like I am looking down on this category of jewelry, but after 12 years in this industry and seeing countless repairs, things that last are fine jewelry pieces when cared for properly.

October 26, 2013 | Jayne Gets Married!

This should have been up a LONG time ago, but I wasn’t quite ready to sit down and write about the wedding yet. I was not the typical bride in that I was more than happy to stay at the “engaged” part and call it a day. There is something appealing about being “man and wife” though and I really wanted my “white guy last name”!

We got engaged on March 14th, 2012 when I was proposed to with an Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat. I disguised the proposal in a review with a picture of the ring at the very end. The comments on that post involved lots of squealing! We (I) didn’t start planning the wedding until August 28th, 2013. We (I) put it all together in 7 weeks!

Special Swatch It Up | Pretty & Polished Custom Thermal for My Wedding!

My first post writing as a married woman! The wedding was wonderful, I will make a separate post for it later, but I wanted to share the custom polish that Chels from Pretty & Polished created for me for the occasion! My dress was a bit unconventional in that it was mint green with a splash of pink in the belt. I wanted a fairly casual wedding and that meant a dress that was very no fuss and one that I could certainly wear again! This custom polish doesn’t have a name, but is a very pale green filled with small pink hex and circle glitter. There are also traces of very fine green glitter dispersed throughout the polish. Wanna know the cool part? This is a THERMAL polish that changes to white when warm! The shift is very slight so I wasn’t able to capture it as well as I would have liked.

I took this picture at the wedding itself! Everyone was wondering why I stole the camera! This is the clutch I had to keep my necessities for the day and because I was outside, you can see that the polish is green.
