Some Essie newness has dropped and I was actually kind of excited. In the world of nail polish, Essie has typically not been my favourite brand. Though their original line of polishes had some cult classic shades that I had to own (Bikini So Teeny, Marshmallow etc.) they were never my first choice mainly due to the skinny application brush. The formulas were good, but the colours were also never wild enough for me though the cremes are brilliant for nail art. Earlier this week, I was very impressed by both the formula and brush of the Essie Gel Couture polishes and now I am nodding in my head in agreement for the newest shades of the Treat Love & Colour line!

The TLC line is both a nail polish and strengthener all in one with a "breathable" formula infused with collagen and camellia extract. You do not need a base or top coat, but I prefer to always use both. The push for healthy polishes has been happening since the advent of the green beauty movement, but to be quite honest, I am really never going to believe that a nail polish is "good for you". It is just one of those products that, for now, cannot be done naturally. I think you can make them as "healthy as you can" which is fine by me!
I received a couple of the new shades to test drive and could not use just one so I figured some multicoloured polka dots were the way to go! I started off with two coats of Essie TLC Indi-go For It* (I LOVE that the polish names are actually printed on the bottle!) and then with a fine dotting tool, dotted on Essie TLC Mauve-tivation* and Pinked to Perfection*! These photos are without top coat so you can see how pretty the polish is on its own. The brush is also nice and wide so application is a breeze!
The Essie Treat Love & Colour polishes are available now at salons and retailers worldwide.
