This is one of those posts where I am super unhappy with the photos. I have been trying to experiment with different product layouts, but I took a whackload of photos last year because I was trying to be productive and have the photos "just in case". Now, I have decided to focus on my flatlay game which has always been a challenge for me so thank you to those of you who have left encouraging comments on my IG photos! This also means that I mentally cannot "curate" more than three or four flatlays because I just find it so exhausting even though I have all of the "common" pieces that flatlays should have.
Mini rant aside, let's focus on more splurgeworthy products and add to this glorious CBB "Worth the Splurge" linky of products that has been MOST entertaining for my wallet. It has been a hot minute since I have chatted about Tata Harper here on Cosmetic Proof, but many of you know that I am a huge fan. I rebuy her products all the time despite the price tag because they really are effective and have worked for both myself and my husband, who grudgingly hates the face that the Tata Harper Repairative Moisturizer seems to keep his skin from breaking out. Obviously Tata is fantastic at skincare, but she also has some great body products so when she released her Smoothing Body Scrub (150mL/$95.00 CDN), the exfoliation fiend in me had to have it!

This is an ECOCERTified body scrub which is kind of crazy considering it's just a scrub, but as almost all of Tata's products are EcoCertified, this does not surprise me. This is a true stamp of a natural product and while this doesn't mean products that don't have this certification aren't natural, Tata felt that having this certification elevated her products above other green beauty lines.
In addition to Tata's Estate Grown Beauty Complex - a blend of five plants that are grown right on the farm and infused into each and every single Tata Harper product (meadowsweet, alfafa, calendula, borage and arnica), this scrub contains five biodegradable physical exfoliators that polish the skin. You've got Himalayan and Hawaiian Sea Salt, apricot seed powder, cranberry fiber and sugar all working together to give skin a healthy glow.
The consistency of this scrub is VERY thick and is one of those super dense scrubs where you only need a tiny amount to get the job done. It is also incredibly hydrating as these exfoliators are sitting in a bed of oils like olive, argan and sunflower oil and like the instructions say, this scrub worked best when applied to dry skin. It can feel a little weird applying body scrub BEFORE you turn your shower on, but it really does work wonders!
This is a pricey body scrub and though it is fantastic, I couldn't possibly use it every day. I didn't even use it on my whole body, just elbows, knees and backs of my arms because it is just too expensive to use like any old body scrub! With that type of usage, I managed to make this tub last about 3 months. Yes, it smelled and felt amazing each time so it was definitely a real treat!
Final verdict: This is nice, but I can't justify buying this again for regular use. This is the kind of thing that I would love to receive as a gift or treat my mom too because it is like the kind of china you take out to eat with when the Queen decided to visit. There is something "disposable" about a luxury body scrub as opposed to skincare where it at least gets to sit on your face for a couple of a hours! I don't know what it is, but even though my skin felt great I cannot wrap my head around the "price for purpose" and am more than happy to use more affordable body scrubs to keep my skin happy.
