I am so disappointed that I didn't know about this collection when it originally launched in the Fall of 2016. I have had a hard time finding blogs in English featuring Korean makeup and beauty products so I have been relying heavily on visiting my favourite Korean etailers and Instagram to keep up. The It's Skin Sesame Street collaboration was released to celebrate the 10th anniversary of It's Skin as well as it's launch in Singapore and not only were these sheet masks released, but a whackload of other products which were so cute I am sure I would have bought them all!
It's Skin is most well-known for its Power 10 Serum which I'm sure at some point in my skincare journey I will be reviewing, but for now I have these four cute sheet masks which I hope will delight you all!
This review is just for the Elmo Mask which contains adenosine (yeast-derived and skin soothing) and hydrolyzed malt extract (skin conditioning) to help with fine lines and hydration. Both featured ingredients are in the lower half of the ingredients list, but let's "face" it. This is a mask with Elmo heads all over it. Was I really going to take it seriously?
While I was a bit disappointed that I didn't actually LOOK like Elmo, I did still enjoy having his little face all over MY face! The actual sheet mask material was soaking with essence and very thin which is always a sign of a good mask! You want as much contact and absorption of essence as possible so the sheet should really mimic the breathability of skin. If it's not thin, then the mask better be an amazing insulator!
The fit of the mask could have been better though as it was quite long, but not very wide. I had a fair amount of excess chin and forehead material and not enough to fully cover the side of my face which I found a bit odd as this was the first time I had come across a mask like this. I don't *think* I have a particularly large face either!
Final verdict: Tackiness after the mask was removed was light to medium, but was remedied with the application of moisturizer. I should probably mention that I now use moisturizer and continue my skincare routine as usual after I use my sheet masks as I am doing it the Korean way and adding them in as an additional step. I do wait about 30 minutes after the mask has been removed to see how my skin is feeling and when it came to Elmo my skin did feel hydrated and I actually had to remind myself to go and apply moisturizer because my skin felt perfectly happy! If you can still find this mask, it was quite fun and I really enjoyed using it! I was especially impressed with how thin the mask was!
I was able to find a good number of It's Skin x Sesame Street products at Yesstyle.ca!
