On any given day, I'm masking some part of my body and though it is mostly my face, I also enjoy finding new masks for my hair and lips! When I was on my girls shopping day in March, I stopped in Nordstrom to look at some shoes and on the way out, a clean beauty pop-up caught my eye because it had a number of US-based brands that I had only seen online like Rael, Clove and Hallow and Truly Organic. I had seen so many colourful, millennial-bait style posts on Instagram for Truly Organic from glitter lip masks to unicorn body butters that I had to see what the big deal was! Was it all just for show? Or were the products actually effective in addition to being so cute that I hated myself for wanting everything?!

I ended up picking up two hair masks and a lip mask with all three being vegan, organic, cruelty-free, Non-GMO, paraben-free, gluten-free and made from fair trade ingredients. The first mask that caught my eye was the rainbow packaging for the Rainbow in Mirrors Split End Treatment. This is a in-shower mask for the mid to ends of the hair and can be left in wet hair anywhere from 2-10 minutes. The scent is sweet and reminds me of lemon soda!
I was a little sad that rainbow swirls weren't coming out of the package, but a baby blue is fine by me and though this mask has a shea butter and cocoa butter base with argan and avocado oil, it was not heavy and hydrated the ends of my hair. Whether it "cured" my split ends, I really don't know, but it was a pleasant and fun mask to use.
The second hair mask that caught my eye was the Star Fruit Hydrate & Shine Hair Mask and turned out to be my favourite of the two as my hair was silkier and smoother with this mask in comparison with Rainbows in Mirrors. Each packet has so far lasted 6 uses with my long hair and is still going strong so my guess is about 10 uses especially if you are not applying these to your scalp. This mask also smells FANTASTIC like a tropical fruit!
Now, for my favourite part! The Star Kisser Jelly Lip Plumping Mask! The only ingredients (in order) for this mask are: organic aloe vera, vegetable glycerin, hyaluronic acid, peppermint, vitamin C and biodegradeable plant-based glitter. This smells fantastic because I ADORE the scent of peppermint and the minty-feeling is pretty intense when you apply this because you've also got the cooling sensation from the aloe vera.
Though the plumping sensation is temporary, this mask feels fantastic after I have removed a matte lipstick! My lips feel so full and refreshed after I have left this mask on for 10 minutes that I feel I could swatch 100 lipsticks!
I have seen Truly Organic at Urban Outfitters and Ulta online, but I have a feeling that even if I wanted to explore more of the brand, it's not going to be easy. There are some other hair and body products that I would be interested in exploring based on my positive experience with the three products I picked up.
