After last Sunday's GoT episode, I was too unmotivated to talk about GoT because for any of you who tuned in, it definitely wasn't the best. Stories are feeling rushed, characters are doing some tragic things despite becoming better people these last 7 seasons and my biggest pet peeve with all of this is how seemingly easy the battle with the Night King seemed to be. This was an enemy that had been built up for so long and now it's over. I almost miss the bastard after seeing Sunday's episode!
Now, that we have one more episode to go, where I'm pretty sure Dany is going to have to be eliminated (she would have been a total dictator), we might as well talk about the only makeup collection that has gotten me excited for a long time! In general, I have definitely moved towards skincare as my vice, but the Urban Decay x Game of Thrones Collection got my blood pumping again so let's get into it!

I have everything in this collection to show you all today with the exception of the two brushes (named after Jon and Arya's swords) as they kept selling out on the UD website whenever I tried to buy them! The Eyeshadow Palette* is really the central piece of the whole collection and if you are a Game of Thrones lover this palette, while not efficient in its use of space, is every fan's dream!
At first you would think there are better quotes from Daenerys, but it does make sense once you lift up the little tab to reveal an miniature Iron Throne! I mean, come on! How they managed to work this into a palette is crazy! Obviously, this is totally why this palette is so large, but I have to give UD props for appealing to the fans.
While I appreciate the inclusion of a mirror, the whole palette is quite heavy and cumbersome to hold, so I tend to slide it out in its entirety and ditch the Iron Throne packaging.
I found the swatches quite pigmented in their classically UD way with the shadows in the round pans being more grainy and loose as I am guessing they are supposed to be more like shadows you layer on top of existing shades or for an inner corner highlight. For someone like myself who gets confused with large numbers of shades, having them grouped in the royal house colours was actually quite helpful!
Ah, the Mother of Dragons Highlight Palette*! Who doesn't love the dragons and did anyone else cry when Viserion was shot down in Season 7?! I mean yes, he came back to life as an undead dragon, but I was so choked when I saw that all it took was a slow-moving icicle to kill a dragon! I was even more upset when Rhaegal went down at the hands of mere humans, but I think I was already primed from Viserion's death. Anyway, this palette contains three shades each named after Dany's three children: Drogon - a frosty pink, Viserion - a warm bronze and Rhaegal - a coppery bronze with the latter two being my favourite shades. I found Drogon a bit chunky in formulation.
While I am not a huge fan of cheek and lip tints, I get why this Dracarys Lip and Cheek Stain* works with the collection because blood is pretty prevalent throughout the series in forms of combat, death and spiritual offerings so having a "vial" of this stuff does seem pretty cool. The stain itself is subtle and reminds me of a "wintery kiss" on the lips or cheeks. Will I hang on to this? I don't think so since it's just going to go to waste in my makeup drawers so I will find it a GoT/makeup-loving home!
Urban Decay's 24/7 Eyeliners are such a staple for me and though I tend to use the same brown and black shades for daily use, when it comes to a good "other coloured" eyeliner, I turn to these guys especially for blues!
This collection contains four gorgeous shades (L-R): Winterfell Snow*, The Night King*, Dragon Smoke* and Lannister Gold*. While I wasn't too sure how to use the hint of sparkle in Winterfell Snow, the other three shades were really quite pretty! Lannister Gold is the perfect gold and glides on so smoothly I wanted to melt with it like the buttery goodness it was!
The Game of Thrones Vice Lipsticks* come in four creamy shades and three finishes: Cersei Lannister (metallized gold), Sansa Stark (sheer nude), Daenerys Targaryen (metallized red) and White Walker (comfort matte berry).
Out of all the lipsticks, I was most pleasantly surprised with how much I liked the finish of Cersei Lannister! I may despise her as a character, but my God this lipstick was stunning! I wasn't expecting to like a metallic finish quite so much! The one I liked the least was Sansa Stark and I tried NOT to let my overall blegh feelings of the character get in the way, but this shade was so sheer on me that I I would forget I was even wearing anything!
The first quadrant of shades I really wanted to experiment with were the House Lannister shades with its gold and burnt coppers. I found the shades quite wearable while being fierce and different from my usual neutrals.
Apologies for not having consistent lighting here for the next look, but there was no daylight by the time I got to photo-taking, but once I went back to blonde I decided that it was time to get some of the green going with the House Stark quadrant of the palette. Again, this was another set of shades I felt comfortable wearing daily.
If you are a Game of Thrones fan, every piece in this collection will be exciting, but my favourite was definitely the eyeshadow palette, followed by the eyeliners! Though the palette was a little cumbersome, I keep finding myself going back to the wearability of the shades!
The Urban Decay Game of Thrones Collection is currently sold out online, but might be found at Sephora and Urban Decay stores.
