This is not the first time I have said this, but I have had a really hard time wearing makeup when I don't have to. Maybe it's my new lazy makeup routine for work that has caused this or maybe it's my new outlook on blogging (Don't feel like it? Then, don't!), but I have found it more challenging to get mentally revved up for a full makeup look on days off. Last week, I suddenly felt like looking pretty around the house and just testing myself to see if I still knew how to blend in foundation and in doing so, I realized that the top half of my face is slightly more tanned than the bottom half that has been covered! I feel like I am on my way to something akin to a goggle tan! Despite this, I was still able to capture some of that golden sunkissed glow with the now not so new, fmg Colors of LOVE collection!
fmg Colors of LOVE Glow Beads Illuminating Powder in Queen of Hearts*
When I think of glow, my brain focuses on cheeks and as cute and pleasant-smelling as this beads were, I found the pink heart beads a bit hard to work with in that they delivered a lot of pink to my cheeks that I had a hard time diffusing with a brush. I tried to swirl lightly as I used this a few times before showcasing the look below, but I still found controlling the amount of pigment on my cheeks difficult. While this powder gave me cheeks a glow, I preferred the more subtle glow of the Glow Balm Illuminating Stick. This powder also comes in the more bronze shade of "Wild Hearts".
fmg Colors of LOVE Glow Balm Illuminating Stick*
This creamy glowy balm stick comes in three other shades and is made with a blend of pomegranate extract, mango and shea butter, vitamins C and E and avocado oil. I found the formula easy to blend and subtle in terms of shimmer. I like using this underneath powder blush as the cream formula isn't sticky and doesn't apply chunky. I was able to comfortably apply this glow balm both with my fingers and directly from the twist-up tube.
fmg Colors of LOVE Summer Eyeshadow Palette*
Like with most collections, the eyeshadow palette is the star out of all of this and the shades of purple and gold are right up my alley! This almost like a sunset in a palette! I found all 12 shades to be quite pigmented, with little fallout and of standard softness in terms of formula. Not too buttery, but not so hard that I felt like I was using excessive force to get at the product! I did feel that this formula was more intense when applying with fingers though and blended easily with a blending brush.
