SHEET MASK | Vivlas Luxury Prestige, Premium Rose and Special Platinum Foil Masks

We've all hoarded a perfectly pristine lipstick or face product with beautiful embossing on it and I feel like that's what I did with these Vivlas Cosmetics foil masks that I picked up in 2018 from a little Kbeauty store on St. Catherine's. I understand that I have a slight problem when it comes hobbies and perhaps I have an addictive personality so back in 2018, when my love for sheet masks was at an all-time high I went CRAZY one afternoon at this place. They had a great selection and I probably dropped about $200 there just on sheet masks alone! Among my glorious haul were these masks from Vivlas, a brand I had not heard of at the time, and to this day have not seen much of. I actually don't think they do sheet masks anymore based on their Instagram page, but the packaging and fun looks of these masks was something I wanted to share with you all!

Luxury Prestige Mask

What makes this mask particularly luxurious? The presence of caviar extract, actual platinum and a number of different peptides! There are also a number of brightening ingredients in the top half of the ingredients list like niacinamide, licorice, arbutin, fermented tea as well as fun plant-based ingredients like pumpkin, ginko biloba, ginseng and hibiscus extract. 

As a side note, I actually didn't realize that any of these Vivlas masks were actually foil masks! It may have said it in Korean, but looking at the picture I thought it was perhaps a hydrogel mask? 

Mask Summary (Luxury Prestige Mask):

Price: I think I paid around $7-$8 CDN for each mask. 

Skin concerns: Moisturizing and revitalizing

Scent: Slightly medicinal, but faded within seconds.

Essence Type: Lightly viscous, clear

Duration: 25 minutes

Thickness: Standard foil mask thickness

Mask Fit: Quite good as there were many slits to fit around contours of the face

Tackiness: Light - medium

Hydration: Less intense hydration than Rose Mask. Just added two drops of Biossance facial oil on top which was plenty of moisture!

Special Platinum Mask

The Special Platinum Mask also contains colloidal platinum as well as diamond and pearl powder for some serious skin-brightening effects! Just like the previous mask, there are other wonderful ingredients in this mask like niacinamide and an amino acid complex containing 14 different amino acids intended to bring extra nourishment to the skin.

Mask Summary (Special Platinum Mask):

Price: I think I paid around $7-$8 CDN for each mask. 

Skin concerns: Dullness, hydration

Scent: Slightly medicinal, but faded within seconds.

Essence Type: Lightly pink, clear and viscous

Duration: 20 minutes

Thickness: Standard foil mask thickness

Mask Fit: Quite good as there were many slits to fit around contours of the face

Tackiness: Medium

Hydration: Intense!

Other notes: My skin did appear brighter and more even-toned upon removal.

Premium Rose Mask

The Rose Mask was my favourite as I always love rose flower water and what it does for my skin in terms of softening and hydration. This also has a little bit of gold, fermented tea, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid to increase skin's elasticity and infuse the skin with antioxidants. 

I thought the rose gold finish of the foil was so cool! This was my first time seeing a mask like this!

Mask Summary (Premium Rose Mask):

Price: I think I paid around $7-$8 CDN for each mask. 

Skin concerns: Elasticity, hydration

Scent: Slightly medicinal, but faded within seconds.

Essence Type: Lightly pink, clear and viscous

Duration: 20 minutes

Thickness: Standard foil mask thickness

Mask Fit: Quite good as there were many slits to fit around contours of the face

Tackiness: Light - medium

Hydration: Intense!

Other notes: Skin was soft and supple 

Final verdict: Though all three masks were on the tacky side in terms of finish, I did enjoy using them and felt them to be quite effective on my skin. I also felt like the ingredients were top notch and there wasn't a whole lot of filler to the essence which is why I remember being enamoured by them when I first picked them up 3 years ago. It's a shame they don't seem to sell them anymore as I felt the quality was quite good and better than most of the foil masks I have tried in the past.
