I had planned on talking about self tanners and being glowy for summer a loooong time ago having tested this Bondi Sands Self Tanning Sleep Mask back in July when I was on vacation, but fate intervened and all things beauty were put on hold for a bit. I guess we still want to look glowy in the dead of winter so maybe this product can still be of use to some of you!

Yes, I love looking bronzed and golden, but every time I attempt self-tanning in any form, I do it once and that's it. I generally dislike all of the prep work that comes with preparing for a self-tan and then not to exfoliate too much afterwards in order to preserve the results. This summer I actually managed to get some colour from all of the walks we were doing around the neighbourhood, but it was a "slow burn" as I did wear sunscreen and our walks were around 45 minutes each time. My face generally stays lighter than the rest of my body as I am more consistent about wearing sunscreen, so if I do want some colour I am hesitant about using self-tanner on my face since I am scared about turning "Donald Trump-orange"!

Staycation is always a good time to try out products ESPECIALLY self-tanner and I wanted to get a head start by looking sunkissed and glowy with mimimal effort. A sleeping mask could not be any less effort so after exfoliating my face, I applied this transparent and lightweight mask as a replacement for my moisturizer did my nightly routine and then slept with it though this mask will still give you results as long as it has been on for at least 6 hours.

Looking at the ingredients list provided by the Bondi Sands website, there are a number of hydrating ingredients AND I like that in brackets, they explain what each ingredient is doing! How helpful is that?! This mask was indeed very hydrating and was actually a bit tacky upon going to bed, but nothing too intense that I hadn't already experienced with a sheet mask! Make sure you wash your hands after application as you don't want to have splotchy tanned hands!

You can see that the results are subtle, but sunkissed which is what I was hoping for! Even my husband liked the results! I should have done a better job blending into my hairline, but other than that I really liked how my skin looked! The colour lasted about 3 days before I noticed it fading which is not bad! I also did not exfoliate during this time so I could keep the colour for as long as possible. Rinsing off the mask the next morning was no different than usual and I did not have any staining on my pillowcase.

Final verdict: This is the first sleeping mask I have tried so I don't really anything to compare it too, but I enjoyed the results (most important), the texture and the clear finish. The next closest thing I have tried is a tanning sheet mask, but I found that weird as well as I felt I looked very orange and it was harder to control where the tan would be around the hairline and neck. This sleeping mask has been a great solution  and I like that it doubles as a moisturizer as well so that not too much effort on my part as to be exerted to achieve a tan!
