SHEET MASK | Laneige Two Tone Sheet Masks

Laneige Two Tone Sheet Mask Review
Purchased by me

I entered the sheet mask game when I feel there were a lot of just "fun" masks that were colourful, had patterns and were, I'll say it, a tad gimmicky though when I saw these brightly coloured Two Tone Sheet Masks from Laneige a couple of years ago, the concept made sense. As is, we multi-mask with different types of clay as different areas of our skin each have their own needs so why not do the same with a sheet mask?

The Two Tone Sheet Masks are a multi-solution for your face that solve two skincare concerns with one mask and have a perforated line down the middle to separate the top and bottom half of the masks.

Moisturizing and Lifting
Laneige Two Tone Sheet Mask Review

The Moisturizing/Lifting mask features quinoa seed to hydrate and carob bean which some scientific studies suggest stimulate collagen synthesis. I used this mask on a day where my skin felt particularly parched and was a bit surprised at how UNmoisturizing this mask was for my skin. The colours were fun and I love my mask selfie, but I was a bit disappointed with this one in terms of what it claimed to do.

Laneige Two Tone Sheet Mask Review

Mask Summary (Moisturizing/Lifting):

Price: About $5 USD

Skin concerns: Dryness, sagging

Scent: Very floral

Essence Type: Clear and viscous for both masks

Duration: 20 minutes

Thickness: Very thin

Mask Fit: A little wrinkly with the nose area fitting a bit big, but not bad overall!

Tackiness: Zero

Hydration: I felt like I still needed moisturizer which I was surprised about as I thought this mask would be the most hydrating out of the three I purchased. I used La Prairie's White Caviar Creme Extraordinaire.

Other notes: Very finicky to put on mainly the bottom half of the mask.

Pore Care and Relaxing
Laneige Two Tone Sheet Mask Review

Firstly, I loved the colours for this mask! The mint green is a shade I love in clothing as well so seeing it in mask form was fun! The top half of the mask focuses on sebum control using pine needle extract while the bottom half focuses on refreshing fatigued skin around the lips (?). I didn't think the skin around my lips could be more tired than the rest of my skin, but apparently it can!

Brightening and Hydrating

Laneige Two Tone Sheet Mask Review

This was actually the most hydrating mask out of the three. While I didn't really experience a huge difference in brightness, I enjoyed this one the most as my skin did look lovely afterwards.

Final verdict: You cannot get these masks anymore, but other than being visually entertaining Laneige has far better masks out there! I found the masks really finicky to apply in two parts as they were very thin,  so once you got to the bottom half, the mask kept folding in on itself which was super annoying! They were fun and I am glad I got a chance to try them!

I was watching the Superbowl and eating nachos today so didn't get a chance to post this until now!
