I have a new rule. If I am going to buy a new beauty product, I need to talk about it here and/or on social media in more than just a Story. While I know that doesn't necessarily justify the spend, I feel like if I spend money on a product, I should at least do it AND my wallet justice by talking about it. It also forces me to not leave things unopened and forgotten which is currently what I am noticing now with my Sephora VIB purchases from the last 2-3 years. Starting with something I picked up from my Sephora VIB Rouge haul, here's to stickin' to my new rule with new-to-me brand Live Tinted!

Founded by South Asian entrepreneur and businesswoman, Deepica Mutyala, Live Tinted caught my attention a few years ago as the beauty community was trying to focus on brands of colour. Deepica also went viral at the height of the beauty influencer era by covering her dark circles with red lipstick. I totally remember watching that video and being in awe that it worked!

Live Tinted Superhue® Brightening Eye Cream

I am not an eye cream user as almost every single eye cream I have ever used has given me milia, but what I DO enjoy is an eye serum or hydration that comes in an extremely light formula. In the mornings, as much as I enjoy a good creamy concealer, I am generally too lazy to use concealer on my undereyes and have been looking for a tinted eye product that doubles as skincare and makeup. I used to use the First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Triple Remedy which was actually very similar to the Superhue® Brightening Eye Cream as it had a similar cooling applicator and tinted, thinner formula, but it was sadly discontinued.

I Googled an equivalent for my beloved First Aid Beauty version and Live Tinted popped up! I looked at the reviews and they looked promising! What I also liked was that the before and after photos were not overly dramatic. They were subtle, but realistic, which I appreciated.

This formula is powered by niacinamide, caffeine and vitamin C to target hyperpigmentation and dark circles, but it also does contain mica which I was actually wanting as I have been treating this more as a makeup product. To some degree, we know that dark circles are genetic so other than getting a good night's sleep, there is little else that can be done to combat them. This eye cream does have some wonderful ingredients, so this is the one time where I will say a makeup product is helping with my skin!

You can see that the tint is more on the peach side which still works for me and has just a whisper of a shimmer. I also like how spreadable the formula is and though the name of the product has the word "cream" in it, the consistency is thin and layerable if you use this as a makeup primer before applying your concealer.

The difference is VERY subtle. The top photo is of my undereyes with nothing on them and then the bottom photo is with me using the Live Tinted Eye Cream. It is a bit more noticeable in real life and I am hoping that because the ingredients are quite nice that my undereyes will eventually look a little brighter and firmer while using this!

Final verdict: I like this! I've only been using it for a week, but it was what I was looking for! I wanted the cooling applicator, the mica and the thinner texture. Would I have liked slightly more brightening coverage like the First Aid Beauty one? Yes, but I am curious to see how this eye cream works over time as I have been looking forward to using it every morning! Everytime I use it, I feel like I am happily ironing my troubles away!
