SKINCARE | Anua Brightening and Hyperpigmentation Routine

I was SO EXCITED when I saw that I had been selected for a YesStyle x Anua campaign because I had just tried the Anua Peach 70% Niacin Sheet Mask, LOVED it and wanted to try more from this super trendy KBeauty brand! The products featured today are specifically for a routine targeting hyperpigmentation and brightening and while I haven't had the chance to use them long enough to see results, my experience so far has been promising!

Niacinamide % + TXA Brightening Pad

These types of toner pads are like a mini sheet mask as you do not need the commitment of your full face and can just focus on the areas that need attention! These brightening pads contain niacinamide, tranexamic acid, Vitamin B12, PHAs and 7 different peptides to revitalize dull skin, decrease hyperpigmentation, improve skin texture and even aid in brightening the undereye area!

These pads are uniquely shaped in that they are curve-hugging and cover a large surface area. They can also be turned to cover the area around the mouth or layered to target both the undereye, mouth and cheek areas. They also feel so cushiony and soft with a little bit of a "felt" grip to them so they did not slip and slide on my face while I puttered around doing some kitchen chores. I saw some photos of people using four of these pads at a time while trying to target, the undereye, cheek and mouth area, but I think it is a bit of waste as the 90% of the surface area of the pads need to layer on top of each other. This method also barely stayed on my face and the pads kept falling off!

Leave these on for 10-20 minutes and then rub in the remaining essence! What I like is that I can use these every day so if I use two pads a day, this tub will last 2 months. I really liked these quite a bit and on nights when I am washing my hair and using a sheet mask feels like a lot of work, these brightening pads are perfect!

Peach 70 Niacin Brightening Collagen Mask

This is a two piece gel mask and is one of those collagen masks that changes colour once it is "ready". Though leaving it on overnight is advised, I do not like doing this as I am a side sleeper AND my cat likes to lick my face whenever I have these types of masks on! This is very similar to the Anua Niacin Serum Mask I reviewed earlier this month (here) with 70% peach fruit extract that is the FIRST ingredient in the list as well as niacinamide and collagen. The mask I reviewed had Vitamin B12 instead of collagen.

I have been so busy so I haven't had a chance to try this mask yet, but you will see it this month! Knowing that it is a longer mask, I just haven't had the patience, but I am sure I will love it just like the other one!

Niacinamide 10 + TXA 4 Serum

We are definitely embracing the pinkness of Peachinia as this is probably what I would consider the key component to this routine! This pink serum contains 10% niacinamide, 4% tranexamic acid and 2% arbutin that all aid in brightening the skin. There is also multi-molecular weight hyaluronic acid and polyglutamic acid to hydrate and soothe the skin as well as ceramides to strengthen the skin barrier. Honestly, I wish luxury brands would have formulas like this!

This serum is lightweight and completely non-sticky with a watery texture, making it easy to blend and layer with the rest of your skincare routine. Some niacinamide serums I have used have been extremely sticky - not this one!

As this is a high concentration niacinamide serum, gradual introduction to your skin is key as it can be irritating if done too quickly! I actually use it only at night and on alternate days as my skin tends to get red in the cheeks if products like this are used everyday. So far, I have really been enjoying this serum and have had no ill effects.

PDRN Hyaluronic Acid 100 Moisturizing Cream

This moisturizer contains PDRN from salmon DNA which is all the rage right now in the beauty world, 10 different types of hyaluronic acid (!!) and hydrolyzed collagen. This also has a droplet-like tip to dispense product for hygienic dispensing, but I also feel like this caters to the TikTok videos where people put tiny dots all over their faces as clickbait which I cannot stand since that is wasting so much product! It also gives me the creeps as I have slight trypophobia...

I love the texture of this gel-cream moisturizer as well as its slight emerald colour. It has a plump consistency that gives my skin this glass-like finish and also contains squalane and niacinamide so I feel like when most moisturizers could just phone it in and let the serums do the work, this moisturizer really steps it up!

Zero-Cast Moisturizing Finish Sunscreen SPF 50+ PA++++

Now, we get to the most important part of any skincare routine - sunscreen! This also has niacinamide in the top half of the ingredients list, but what I tend to focus on with sunscreen is stickiness, white cast and texture.

On my skin, I experience no white cast and the texture is a more watery gel which I really enjoy as it feels lightweight on the skin and spreads easily. I am also able to use this sunscreen as a moisturizer which is a HUGE plus for my morning routine as I have never liked layering moisturizer, sunscreen AND foundation on top!

Final verdict: I loved allllll of these products (except the sheet mask as I haven't tried it yet, but I'm sure I will love!). You cannot argue with the ingredients, the prices and just how targeted the treatments are. Now, that I have started using Kbeauty skincare again, I have been reminded with how much more progressive their skincare tech is and just how lovely the textures and ingredients are compared to the pricier North American/French options. Yes, luxury skincare has its own purpose and demographic, but I think Kbeauty is what is going to keep me youthful!
