It's not very often that I do back to back events with Dior in one day mainly due to my lack of energy and not wanting to stay downtown and dealing with traffic on the way home. With how busy and chaotic the last few weeks have been, I was willing to make the drive downtown and get an amazing facial as well as do a little bit of shopping!

I always try and book my facials first thing in the morning when Holt Renfrew opens so that I don't have to worry about morning traffic (I know, I know, much of my scheduling revolves around traffic). I have an amazing facialist here and though these facials are specifically using Dior Prestige products and though in the realm of skincare ingredients, these are overpriced if you look at just the ingredients, it's all about the textures, scents and of course, an amazing facial!

As I was heading to a Dior event later in the afternoon, I asked for a touch up using Dior's newest foundation release - the Dior Foreverskin Glow foundation. I am the shade 2N which they were out of, but I was able to order it. The texture felt super lightweight and buildable and I think it will be a great formula to use this summer!

I also picked up one of the new Dior Addict Glass Lipsticks in a clear sparkly shade for an easy, yet still interesting lip look. This new formula is just more shiny than the original Dior Addict formula and I might pick up one more shade, but at $61 a pop, I think that will be it!

Next up, was the Matcha Tea Ritual Event! This was something Dior had never done before and as always, they had a beautiful setup just in the back area of the beauty floor. This event was in collaboration with an organic cafe in Yaletown called 123Dough who specialize in matcha!

We each had our own matcha workstation where we were going to whisk up some black matcha powder which I had never tried before! This black matcha had been pan fried so the flavour was much more pronounced. Personally, I liked the scent and taste of this black matcha more than green! I was alao concerned about the caffeine levels, but was told that though this had more caffeine that green matcha, it was much lower than coffee and gave a more gradual "buzz" vs. the jittery buzz of coffee. They were right! It was actually a really pleasant level of alertness, but the whole ceremony of matcha is not really my jam. I don't really like taking 10 minutes to make a beverage, so it may just have to be a treat! It reminded me a lot of the quick 3-step vs. the 10-step skincare routine and some people just prefer one more than the other! I guess I am a 3-step tea person LOL!

We made ourselves a latte by pouring the black matcha over oat milk and ice and then paired off with an affogato dessert which complimented the latte quite nicely!
The day would not be complete without a little Dior Beauty haul so I picked up the new coral coloured Le Baume as well as the new Miss Dior Body Cream and an LE lipstick case for my Dior Addict Lipstick. I won't lie, I was exhausted once I got home after fighting traffic on the highway (there was a car on fire!) and then went to run some more errands at London Drugs after I got home. After this, I pretty much spent the afternoon wandering around my place in a zombie-like state. I think I am not meant for this day long outings anymore, but it was good to get out and do something a little different and not have to rush back to work like with some of the previous events last month.
There will be more with Dior coming in the next few months so stay tuned!
