March 2013 Aveda Prive Topbox

This Topbox was a bit of a surprise as I received my tracking info yesterday as well as my box! I am fairly happy with the Aveda Prive Box although I keep forgetting how small the samples really are. I have been wanting to try more Aveda products so seeing the number of products in this month’s Topbox pushed me to opt for this one instead of the regular Topbox.

The Aveda box came wrapped in green leafy paper.

  1. I start to dislike Topbox because of their tiny samples and I find that some sampls are easy to find at Sephora...so I don't think its worth to spend at least 162$ a year for topboxes..

    1. I know, it's starting to get to that point, but I find that I don't shop at Sephora enough to get the samples that Topbox offers. It was so much better at the beginning, but with the full size Deborah Lippman in the last Topbox, I'm more than happy to stick with them for now.

  2. I think when sample boxes offer EXCLUSIVE releases, it gets more exciting. Just recently, Shiseido partnered with a sample box service locally and everybody went wild over it!

    1. It's totally more exciting and hard to say no to!
I would love it if Shiseido partnered up!

  3. I had such a hard time deciding what box to choose. I left it to the last minute :/ I did get a tracking code so I am thinking I will get the one I selected. But I am like you, I want the Prive box and the regular box HAHA.

  4. I received the regular Topbox (my very first one!) and was a little disappointed to be honest. i received a Maskeraide mask, an Aveda body cream sample, two small samples of Mythic Oil and some Marc Jacobs perfume samples in a little coin purse. I was happy with the mask and body cream, but I'm not really thrilled about perfume samples as I have lots already. I'm hoping next month will be better!

    1. Oh, that's too bad! I love the Maskeraide masks so hopefully you'll enjoy that and I know how you feel about the perfume samples. I wish they didn't count towards the actual sample count...

    1. That's what I liked about this Topbox, the variety. I just wish they were bigger!

  6. I actually love Aveda shampoos and conditioners. If they included any of them I probably would've picked the prive instead of the regular box. Now I'm dying to know what's in the regular box this month!

    1. I like the Rosemary Mint line, but I really hated the Invati shampoo line so I'm glad that wasn't included.
      I'm curious too!

  7. I slowly have weened myself off the beauty box craze... That being said I still do get Glossybox & Ipsy but, I just think it gets to a point where you are just not as satisfied because you have been seeing similar things over and over plus it really all adds up. The element of surprise is just amazing tho!

I think this was a great box tho!

    1. I need to wean myself off as well as we're not quite as excited as we once were! I think you're right in that we're just paying for the element of surprise and the opportunity to try things.

  9. I love the variety of samples in this box, but the sizes are so tiny :( I definitely expect deluxe size samples in subscription services :)

    1. I do too and I wish that there was even just one travel sized product like the hand lotion in here, but I have a feeling that Aveda samples are just expensive to obtain.

  10. I wish I knew more about beauty boxes but since none of them offer international shipping I out of reach : / I've always heard great things about Aveda, hope all products are as great as everyone said. Enjoy them Jayne! xx

    1. There must be some beauty box services where you live, no?
I will enjoy them as always ;-)

  11. I ordered the regular Topbox today and got to say that I'm a bit disappointed. I ended up cancelling a couple of subscriptions tonight: both Topbox & Ipsy. The thrill of these subscription boxes is gone... I think I'd rather take the $28/month that I was paying & then buy where I really want at the store. The only box I'm keeping is Julep & that's only because you're allowed to preview/skip if you don't like it.

    1. I totally understand, I am just waiting for when the element of surprise is not enough for me. I don't have mouths to feed, but if I did I would definitely be rethinking quite a number of boxes.

Topbox was much better before Oct 2012 IMO...

  13. I'm so torn over Topbox right now. The regular box was alright but not great... I was hoping for the awesome DL polish the regular box had last month, but oh well. This box looks pretty good!

    1. I hope they do another round of DL polish because in the run of Topbox there have been 3 of them so there is a very good chance that there will be another one!
