Yes. Glymm and I have gotten back together at least for another year, but I’m regretting it a little. February’s Glymm Bag arrived in March and although it is Valentine’s-themed, is somewhat lacking in excitement. For those that are part of the nail polish promo, this bag was probably more interesting because of the extra nail polish thrown in, but for someone like me that got just a $20 credit for “coming back”, February’s Glymm Bag is just “comme ci, comme ca” and you will soon find out why.
Purely Pro Eye Shadow in Luxury
Welcome to your chic and classic eye makeup. This innovative shadow is sure to make you stand out in the crowd.
Thoughts: I don’t really like matte eye shadows and although this shadow looks brown in the photo, in real life it’s more of a taupe that isn’t all that flattering on me. The texture is nice though, but pigmentation is just okay.

Villainess Ginger Snapped Bar Soap
This original soap in all its luxurious lather is bound to transform your daily ablutions from a task into a treat.
Thoughts: I quite like Villainess products and their unique scents so I enjoyed this sample. This wouldn’t have been a scent that I would have chosen for myself, but I like the “snap” in this ginger-scented soap. The sample is also a good size and a normal shape which I appreciate! I hate it when soap bar samples are just shards and awkward to use.

Nailuv Gel Nail Polish in Berry Sweetie
This gel polish will leave your mani looking better for longer.
Thoughts: I think this is the product is the most flummoxing as this is a gel polish that needs to be cured by UV/LED light. I suppose little portable versions of these are all the rage right now, but a lot of people (including myself) don’t own them, rendering this polish essentially useless. The packaging is cute though and the colour seems nice.

Femme Couture Monster Gloss in Divine
Give your lips an intensity and shine that will last for hours.
Thoughts: I’ve always wanted to try a Femme Couture product so I was pleased to see this lip gloss in a colour that I would definitely wear. The tube is truly monstrous and I will pretend that I am sort of Amazon when I use it.

Total value of February Glymm Bag: $32.59
It’s unfortunate that I did not like the eye shadow as I would have felt better about February’s Glymm Bag. The nail polish is just an enigma to me as to why Glymm would send such a polish, but maybe I’ll have a pedicure done with it at the salon. I hope March’s Glymm Bag is not quite so hit and miss because I’ve got another 11 months with Glymm to go!
I've seen that many people did not like the eyeshadow. It did work quite nicely for me. The nailpolish is a joke. I have no idea why they would include a product like this. It seems that it would have been prudent to send out a survey and see who had a UV/LED light. It sounds like alot of people are just going to be tossing it - which I don't know how happy I'd be if I was the company supplying the product.
ReplyDeleteA survey would have been a very good idea because you're right, if I were Nailuv I would want ppl to use my product, not throwing it out!
DeleteI love Gel nails, and I think you can get a Gel lamp for $50 at walmart, and they come with a kit. Not sure if you have walmart in Canada.
ReplyDeleteI change my nail polish too often to really appreciate gel nails. Yup, we've got a Wal-Mart here and you can get lamps for not very much, but I guess it's the assumption that not a lot of people have lamps yet...soon I think, but the trend is only just beginning. I wouldn't mind one as a little gift in the future ;-)
Delete"flummoxing" -hahaha, what a good word!
ReplyDeleteLOL! It was totally how I felt!
DeleteI think the box would have been nicer if they gave a more interesting eyeshadow colour and a different nail polish (preferrably one where you didn't have to have another tool just to use the darn thing). I still haven't used 90% of the stuff I got from my Glymm boxes LAST year! Remember that odd feather hair thing?!
ReplyDeleteOMG, the feather that was worth like $20?! I still remember how totally pissed I was to see it! Worst thing ever!
DeleteI wish they did Glymm boxes in the UK!!
ReplyDeleteTo celebrate the start of my new blog i'm giving away Roberto Cavalli's latest perfume, i'd love if you could enter :)

talisa xx
The UK has a couple of very good boxes no?
Deleteyou and glymm back together, eh? hehe I actually do have my own UV lamp (and not for science purposes haha) but I have yet to try the polish out though.
ReplyDeleteI'll ask for a lamp for my birthday...maybe...I'm so curious about having the chance to try gel polish in the comfort of my own home.
DeleteUh oh! I hope the quality increases:)
ReplyDeleteI hope so too, but I feel like ppl have been saying that for awhile!
Deletei decided to use the eyeshadow to fill in my brows and its been working for me :)
ReplyDeleteand LOL @ you pretending to be an Amazon heheeee
OH! That's a great idea! It's actually the perfect colour!
DeleteLOL, I wondered if anyone was going to catch that comment!
That's too bad. I guess those services drop the ball at one time or another, hope the next one gets a lot better Jayne, would be really disappointing otherwise : / xx
ReplyDeleteI would hate to be locked in for one year of lackluster beauty samples...
DeleteAw I don't have a UV light either. I hope the upcoming boxes work better for you!
ReplyDeleteMe too! This is only the first out of a year of boxes!
DeleteReally disappointed in Glymm! Where's my March box!! Damnit. I purchased the nailpolish promo.
ReplyDeleteI know, I am so upset!!!
