I think we have all seen the MICRO Pedi ($39.99) either online or in drugstores like London Drugs and Shoppers Drug Mart and I will admit that I was a bit apprehensive about picking this up even though I have read consistently good reviews on the efficacy of its “smoothing” powers. After years of calluses from walking in high heels and sandals, it was time to try the MICRO Pedi…on my husband first…then myself ;-). I won’t have any pictures of live feet in this post mainly because a) my husband declined and b) I think feet are kind of gross to be looking at on a macro level!
The MICRO Pedi is a handheld, battery-operated device that is comparable to “a pumice stone on speed”. It requires 2 AA batteries (not included) and comes with one micro-mineral roller that gently buffs away rough, dry and.or cracked skin. These rollers do need to be replaced and are sold online and in-store for $19.99 and come in varying levels of coarseness. These blue ones are ideal for coarse skin and all over foot-buffing.
There is a little brush that is also included to brush out the “skin brushings” from the roller. There is also a button on the side of the MICRO Pedi that allows the roller to pop out and be cleaned or rinsed off.
The micro-mineral roller is quite textured and cannot be left on the same area of skin for more than a few seconds as it starts to burn! The roller is moving THAT fast!
Final Verdict: All I can say is HOLY CRAP. The MICRO Pedi is SUPER effective! I don’t even know why I have been wasting my time with a hand held “heaven forbid” manual labour pumice stone in the shower! This little gadget is DA BOMB! Yes, it’s $40, but I kid you not, even for the toughest most callused skin, in no more than 10 minutes your feet will be like those of a baby! Smooth, soft and virgin again!
Once the MICRO Pedi is turned on, the blue roller just starts spinning and all you have to do is just hold the device lightly against dry skin. Take care not to press too hard on the skin as it impedes roller motion! I first used this on my husband who has had the toughest, most callused skin on his heels and balls of feet and it was ridiculous how fast the MICRO Pedi was able to reveal soft, fresh skin underneath! There was literally a pile of “foot dust” on the floor (gross, I know, but just a visual of how effective it was at removing tough skin!). Since, it worked for my husband I knew it would be alright for me and sure enough, the hard skin that I have had underneath my big toe for years was gone in minutes! This is an awesome little gadget that’s easy to hold, use and most of all incredibly effective. The amount of time I have saved is more than enough for me to justify the price as a girl’s got other things to do in her day other than pumice for hours!
