May 2014 Favourites

Well, look at that. I actually have REAL favourites for once! I finally decided to enjoy some makeup and make note of things I have been loving which I constantly forget to do. Hopefully, you will find some favourites among MY favourites!

Revlon | Colorstay Gel Envy in Wild Card

This swatch says it all. This bold blue is so incredibly vibrant and has the most amazing formula that it was love at first stroke (sounds so dirty…).

Sally Hansen | Cuticle Rehab

I have reviewed this cuticle oil before and have been consistently using it ever since. After using so many cuticle oils, this one in particular is thicker in consistency so makes for less of a mess and of course leaves my cuticle beds looking soft and healthy.

Stila | Stay All Day Vinyl Lip Gloss in Nude

I will have a review of this coming up, but this shade is anything, but nude! This really does stay all day and is a tacky sort of stickiness in terms of consistency. The colour lasts up to 10 hours on me with eating and in an AC work environment so the lasting power is impressive. It doesn’t stay glossy though so you will have to touch up at about 3-4 hours, but looks fresh when you do.

Make Up For Ever | Aqua Rouge in #10

This is just a great colour. It looks dark in the tube, but on me is actually a vibrant fuchsia. Crazy, right? How does Aqua Rouge compare to Stay All Day Vinyl? Without that special clear gloss on top, it’s VERY drying but when it comes to touch ups the clear gloss keeps the lip colour so fresh looking!

NYX | Butter Gloss in Strawberry Parfait

The butter glosses have been around, but it was only last month that I decided to give them a try. Are they buttery? Yes. They even SMELL buttery. The colour payoff is actually quite good and I already have a couple of colours! They don’t have the same pigmentation as the above two lip products, but what the butter glosses are great for is a non-sticky wash of juicy colour that’s hydrating for the lips as well.

Boscia | Peppermint Blotting Linens

In reality, these were a January favourite, but I kept forgetting to include them in my photographs so now they are finally making their appearance! I love the scent of peppermint so when these came out for a limited time in December, I snagged two of them as blotting papers are great for midday touch-ups. For some reason with my recent love for cream blushes, I am noticing my face getting shinier than usual so these blotting linens have been in constant use.

M.Asam | Magic Fini

This product was actually part of the March 2012 Glymm Box, but a friend of mine gave me hers and I have rediscovered it. For some reason, it has been a great primer for my foundation and has been giving me a near flawless finish.

Bare Minerals | High Shine Eye Color in Bronzed

Using the applicator, there is quite a bit of fallout, but once I applied this using my fingers I could see how amazing the colour payoff was! WOW! Beautifully soft and the colour sticks around for hours and hours without budging. This is a colour I am probably going to be using A LOT of this summer!

Stila | CC Cream in Tone 3

Forgive me, I forget to give this product its own picture! This is one of those products that self-adjusts to your skin tone. It starts out greenish and as you work it into your skin, becomes the perfect shade! Review coming on this soon because I just love the flawless finish I get!

Summer is coming, I’m excited! Look out for summer-themed posts coming soon!
