Look at me doing a review on something that is current! Ha! Usually that happens when I try something and cannot get enough which happens to be the case with the new MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Liquid Matte Lipsticks* ($25.00 CDN). At its roots, this is a super matte, fast drying, ultra pigmented liquid lipstick that boasts a whopping 20 hour wear time! I have been pretty addicted to my Colourpop Ultra Satins so when these guys arrived, I put immediately put them to the test and was blown away (sorry, I ruined the ending for you)!
Coming in only 6 neutral shades for now, what I found truly different about this formula was how much lighter it was in consistency. It wasn't whipped like many liquid lipsticks, but almost like a fluid. It applied incredibly easily in one coat without me having to touch up any bare patches. This liquid lipstick is a one stop shop!
As you can see from the swatches, they are very pigmented and look identical in appearance to other liquid lipstick formulas like my beloved Colourpops, but these really felt so much more lightweight instead of thick and caked on. Far more comfortable to wear by a longshot!

Final verdict: The wear time I pushed until the 8 hour mark and though my lips looked a bit dry by the end, I still had a solid colour on my lips. A little bit of the colour had disappeared from the center from eating lunch, but other than that, there was no bleeding or fading. When it comes to a liquid lipstick, these Artist Liquid Mattes have been the most comfortable to wear by far! I've even purchased the shade 103 Warm Beige because I wanted a nude as well. Hopefully, more shades get released with this same comfortable, lightweight formula because I really did not think liquid lipsticks could get any better!
