I received these Urban Decay eye shadow pencils from Miranda’s 700 Follower Giveaway and have been loving them! They are incredibly quick and easy to use and have great staying power. I generally wear a more neutral eye for day to day so I’ve been using mainly the brown eye shadows in Rehab, Juju and Sin. I've always been a fan of UD’s eye makeup so I am delighted that these eye shadow pencils lived up and possibly exceeded my expectations!
Packaging: Yay for chubby pencils!
Formula: Very similar in texture to the NYX Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencils which I reviewed back in May. Creamy, smooth and easier to work with than the MUFE Aqua Shadow, which I also reviewed at the beginning of August, as the formula didn’t dry quite as quickly. I normally pair these eye shadows with UD’s Primer Potion and it lasts an 8 hour day with ease. I love the fact that I can line and shadow with just one product and still blend with my finger. In comparison to the MUFE Aqua Shadow, blending was much easier with the UD pencil most likely due to the fact that it isn’t waterproof like the MUFE one.
Final Verdict: These are fantastic, but they’re a little on the expensive side as the full-sized product is $24 CDN for a single pencil. I think the NYX Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencils are similar enough to the UD ones, that you don’t really need to have both. Personally, the NYX formula didn’t last as long on my eyelids even with primer so based on that, I would choose the UD pencils, but for those of you who have and love your NYX pencils, I don’t think you’re missing out on too much if you don’t get the UD ones!
These are so pretty, I especially love SIN, I can't find NYX, maybe I should google it. I always saw urban decay and soo bright and flashy for me! But I have seen some great products from them since joining beautylish and beauty blogs (such as yours!)
ReplyDeleteSin is fantastic. I love it in the UD Naked Palette and I love it as a chubby pencil. It's just such a great colour that lights up your eyes. I get my NYX stuff from Beautyjoint.com. The shipping is pretty inexpensive and there is a lot of selection.
Deleteall the colours are perfect, I wish I could buy UD here, but they do not sell this brand here yet
ReplyDeleteCan you get it from ebay?
DeleteI LOVE the top three colors!! so beautiful
ReplyDeleteI love the blue as well, but I just never know when to wear it!
DeleteGorgeous colours! Out of my price range though.. how do they compare to the Naked palette in terms of staying power?
ReplyDeleteI find the two very similar if I wear either with UD Potion Primer. I just wish it wasn't so expensive per pencil!
DeleteCongrats on winning! They're gorgeous colors(: xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks! The colours are great! I want a green one to use now!
DeleteI love UD Glide On eye pencils. I bought the Naked pencil kit from the Shopping Channel when they were having a great sale. I use them as bases all the time. And lining my eyes. I saw these on Hautelook not too long ago and was tempted to get them. Now I am kicking myself! Congrats on the win! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! The UD pencils are expensive, but they really are so so nice to use. Can't wait to start buying these from Shoppers!

Aww, I'm so glad you like my blog! That means a lot!
DeleteSin and Delinquent are great aren't they?? I would wear them everyday, they go with anything!
Sin looks like a super lovely and versatile color, but like you said, a little pricey for me.
ReplyDeleteI know, it's expensive...I don't think I would have bought it on my own considering I already have the same shade in the Naked palette.
