Some New Things to Try! (As If I Need More!)

As always, whenever I feel like trying some new beauty products, I do my best to wait for a Shoppers Drug Mart 20x the points day to get whatever I’ve been lusting for. I never have to wait very long because there is always at least one event per month, but ever since joining the beauty blogging community, the wish list gets pretty long over the course of the month!

Ever since Aleeza mentioned the Garnier Anti-Dark Circle Roller as a must-have, I knew I had to try it. It has the cooling metal ball for de-puffing, but also dispenses a brightening concealer to further diminish dark circles. There are two shades: light and medium of which I chose the latter. The other product that I have been wanting to try is Benefit’s Hello Flawless Foundation. I tried it on my whole face before I purchased it and it felt lightweight and looked seamless. As for the shade, can you believe that I am the LIGHTEST shade in the line?! I am ivory! I’ve never been that light in any makeup line ever!

NOPIs were on special so I couldn’t say no to these guys! These are actually my first NOPIs and I can honestly say that I don’t have any other polishes like these! I thought “Disco Dolls” was especially unique looking.

I have tried Korres facial wipes before in a different scent which I wasn’t a fan of. I think it was Milk Proteins which smelled a little strange, so I am hoping these Pomegranate Grenade wipes will smell much more appealing! The only thing is that this set of wipes is for oily to combination skin which the sales person told me were a bit harsh on the skin around the eyes. I guess I’ll find out!

Anyone else adding a few new products into their daily makeup routine?

  1. Hi! The hello flawless foundation, what kind of coverage does it give? And what skin type would you recommend it for?

    1. From the few times I've used it, the coverage is about medium. More than a BB Cream, but definitely not quite as heavy as some other foundations I have used. I have dry skin so I have to apply a moisturizer beforehand because I found that Hello Flawless accentuated my skin's dryness, but from the texture and the fact that it's oil-free I think it would be suitable for oily or combination skin too. What I love about it is the brightening effect it gives. I'll have to do a full face shot soon!

    1. I am loving the Garnier roll-on! It feels nice and it's a concealer that just brightens the area underneath my eyes and makes my eyes look more awake.

I know, I could not say no to A Million Sparkles! I kept fantasizing about how it would look so awesome over black!

I'm holding out for the smashbox bb cream because I have heard a lot of good things about it and I also would love to try the Korres facial wipes.. I'm going to try to make my rounds and see which one is the best!

    1. That's what I have been doing with facial wipes as well, trying to figure out which ones I like best. I don't think any Canadian gal can resist 20x the points day!

  6. I've seen a lot of things about the benefit foundation, I'm usually always the lightest or second/third to the lightest, that's surprising.
A million sparkles and disco dolls look so pretty! I hope the pomegranate grenade wipes work out better, the name sounds interesting.
(And I got your package today! :D)

    1. It really surprised me too that I was the lightest shade! I'm basically Caucasian according to Benefit!
Aren't the NOPIs the most gorgeous colours? I made sure that I didn't have shade like it!
