February Empties! *Pat on Back*

I really should call last month “full size February” because I decided to steadily use products that I’d had sitting around for far too long!

Bath and BodyDSC_0119

*Let’s try out some emoticons to say whether I’d repurchase or not with the thinking face being a “maybe”*

1. Bliss Blood Orange and White Pepper Body Wash and Bubbling Bath (473.2mL)Thumbs up

Acquired: March 2012 from Winners

This has been sitting in my shower since! It has taken a long time to go through, but it smells fantastic and makes lots of bubbles!

2. Garnier Intensive 7 Days Ultra-Softening Lotion in Mango Oil (250mL)Thumbs up

Acquired: June 2012 from Shoppers Drug Mart

I have been steadily working on it this since acquisition and is a fast-absorbing, non-greasy moisturizer and have already bought a second bottle in the larger size! The scent is very light and it certainly moisturizes for the day, but I don’t know about 7! I have not put it to the test yet since I like having showers…

3. Bliss Blood Orange and White Pepper Maximum Moisture Cream (200mL)Thumbs up

Acquired: March 2012 from Winners

I love love Bliss moisturizers as I feel they are the perfect consistency, ideal level of hydration and are fast-absorbing. The scent is also unique and pleasant and I already have another bottle in tow!

4. Petal Organics – Firming Phyto Bio Active Body Cream (0.5oz)Thumbs down

Acquired: October 2012 from the October Natural Beauty Box

I really liked the fluffy, whipped texture of this moisturizer, but it was incredibly greasy and did not absorb very quickly. I wasn’t a fan of the scent either so I won’t be purchasing the full size of this.

5. Cake Strawberry Shortcake Decadent Body Butter (180mL)Thinking smile

Acquired: July 2010 from Sephora

This was an absolutely delicious-smelling moisturizer, but is VERY sweet in scent. It can get a bit overwhelming which was part of the reason it has taken me so long to finish this. The main reason is that this is a VERY thick and greasy moisturizer which I could not use in the warmer months. It made me feel so gross because my clothes would stick to me and would take forever to absorb into my skin. This is why I give it a “maybe” because while it was great for very dry areas like knees and elbows, it didn’t feel great in other areas.

6. Julep The Best Pedi Creme Ever! (2mL)Thumbs up

Acquired: One of many Maven boxes from 2012

I love the combination of cucumber and mint in real life and at first I wasn’t too sure how well this would transfer to a foot lotion, but the scent is surprisingly fresh. I have two of these in the full sizes already so I obviously love it!

7. Cake It’s a Slice Velveteen Hand Creme (100mL)Thumbs down

Acquired: August 2011

The only reason I would not repurchase this is purely based on scent. I just got sick of it. It was nice at the beginning, but eventually I just found it too sweet. The hand creme itself is fantastic and I have 4 other full size bottles in different scents!

8. Tubtown Scents Hand Cream in Coconut Mango (~20mL)Thumbs up

Acquired: May 2012 Divalicious Box

The scent reminded me of summer and is a fast-absorbing hand cream. Great for using when at the computer! There is nothing worse than greasy keys!

9. Maskeraide Beauty Rest’Ore Hydrating Facial Sheet MaskThumbs up

Acquired: December 2012

For those who know me, I love sheet masks so this isn’t an empty that has been sitting around very long in my stash. This particular mask is all about stress relief with its lavender essence. This particular mask is meant to be left on for much longer than some of the other ones that are more of a pick-me-up.

10. Maskeraide I Don’t Wanna Grow Up Hydrating Facial Sheet MaskThumbs down

Acquired: December 2012

I just didn’t like the smell of this particular mask’s “essence”. This has ylang ylang which I find strong. Other than that, my skin was delightfully soft and hydrated after 20 minutes of having this mask on.

11&12. Mereadesso Face and Neck Toning Gel (7mL)Thumbs down

Acquired: April 2012

For the price of the full size, I didn’t find this product to be particularly amazing. As a serum, I found the gel to be somewhat watery. I prefer the Origins and Clarins serums I am using now so I won’t be purchasing this anytime soon.

13&14. Pangea Organics Facial Cream Nigerian Ginger with Lavender & Thyme (2mL)Thumbs down

Acquired: December 2012

This seemed promising at first, but it never absorbed into my skin! It started peeling off my face and looked disgusting!

15. Balance Seawater Facial Mist (8mL)Thumbs up

Acquired: October 2012 from October TNBB

Very refreshing and smelled a little like the ocean. I felt better every time I used it!

16. Korres Wild Rose 24HR Moisturizing and Brightening Cream (20mL)Thumbs down

Acquired: October 2011

For some reason, this moisturizer was fine during the day, but when used after a shower it made my skin burn…based on that, I won’t be purchasing the full size.

17. Korres Wild Rose Face and Eye Serum Brightening & Line Smoothing (20mL)Thinking smile

Acquired: October 2011

I quite liked this serum, but it wasn’t better than what I was using before. Just different. If there is ever a special on it, I probably would get it, but not at full price.

18. Dermologica Skin Prep Scrub (22mL)Thumbs down

Acquired: November 2011 from Luxe Box

This was a fairly good scrub, quite rough so definitely not one that should be used everyday. I wasn’t a fan of the scent though, as it smelled somewhat chemically. I have other face scrubs that I prefer much more.

19. Lush Brazened Honey Fresh Face Mask (60g)Thumbs up

Acquired: January 2013

After hearing so much talk about this mask, I finally picked it up and loved it! I will definitely repurchase! It smelled great and my skin felt great after use.

20. skoah Invigor-mint Shampu (30mL)Thumbs up

Acquired: September 2012

Smells minty and makes my scalp tingle ever so slightly. It’s a little more minty than the Aveda Rosemary Mint shampoo and not quite as drying for me. I already have a full size bottle ready to go!

21. skoah Mane Squeeze Konditioner (30mL)Thinking smile

Acquired: July 2012

This is a “maybe” only because I could take it or leave it. It wasn’t anything spectacular, but it did the job.

22. Havaya Shampoo(9mL)Thinking smile

Acquired: December 2012

This shampoo was bright blue! It was very fun to use and smelled great. Too bad I got this in a swap from Israel and it is unavailable to me :(

23. Pur Minerals Impact+ Mascara (4.8g)Thumbs down

Acquired: August 2012

This totally dried out on me, but didn’t give me volume or length in my lashes so this would have been a toss anyway.

24. inm Out the Door Top Coat (15mL)Thumbs up

Acquired: August 2012?

LOVE THIS! I have two other bottles all ready to go!

25. Anderson Soap Company Luscious Lip Balm in Zesty Cocoa Butter & Mint (0.15oz)Thumbs up

Acquired: September 2010

I have had this for a long time and gratefully used up every last drop! My favourite thing to use is a peppermint-based lip balm after I’ve had a shower and this, along with my Burt’s Bees lip balm, was my go-to.

26. Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment (2.2g)Thumbs up

Acquired: July 2012

I love this stuff, the smell, the hydration it provides and the hint of colour. This was just a mini from my birthday gift from Sephora and I have a full sized one AND two more minis in my stash. I cannot get enough of this stuff!

27. Nina Ricci L’Elixir (1.2mL)Thinking smile

Acquired: January 2012

I actually really enjoyed this scent but it smells so similar to the other scents I own that getting the full size of this scent would be redundant.

28. Anna Sui Forbidden Affair (1.2mL)Thumbs up

Acquired: Sometime in 2012

I enjoyed this scent quite a fair bit and would totally get the full size…if I didn’t have 50 other bottles of perfume…

Yayyy! All done with more stuff!

  2. Woooowww I will say it again you are dedicated. LOL I am too cranky to put up with products I am not a fan of and just toss. I tried keeping an empties bin (LOL reminds me, we use that term when I tended bar HAHA) but it didn't last. Okay how did you get the emoticons on there? I just figured out how to add the emoticons to my iPhone HAHA.

    1. I get cranky and then I get angry! LOL! Then I want to use up the product even more!
The emoticons are from Windows Live Writer as that is my blogging editor of choice ;-)

    1. It does feel like a fresh start! And it's so much fun to see how much you can finish.
I have not tried Vanilla and Bergamot yet, but I think I must!

  4. I have to check out Winners more often for Bliss. I got an eye cream/depuffer there once. I have always wanted to try the Korres eye serum. Too bad it doesn't do any wonders.

    1. Yeah, I wasn't too impressed...I had high hopes though. I still haven't given up on finding a Korres product I like!

  5. Good job finishing everything!
I'm out of samples now so it takes me longer to use everything up.

Too bad about the Korres products. I was interested in their items but I was skeptical if their natural ingredients really performed.

I use dermalogica products for my skincare routine. I know what you mean about the smell, but i've come to like it now haha!

  6. Whoa! Awesome work! I definitely agree about it's a slice - at the end I needed a break from that scent.

  8. Wow, that's a lot of empties!!! I'm proud of you sweetie, seriously, good for you. The moment one finishes up a product feels wonderful and a true review emerges "will I ever repurchase this, or was it a total fail, thank goodness it's over?". I think these empties posts are my absolute favourites nowadays, these are the ultimate reviews I should be looking for. I wish I was dilligent enough to save my bygone products, but I don't really have enough space where I live as it is : / Thanks a lot for sharing this... adding more stuff to my endless wishlist, damn it! LOL xx

    1. hahaha, sorry! The dangers of reading beauty blogs right?
It's true, you have a look back over the month and you realize what products you truly love and will spend the money on and others products that are just okay. I'm glad you like the mini reviews, I love reading them on other blogs too. LOL, the empties DO take up a lot of room!

  9. I love these posts. <3 You've actually inspired me to go through my samples stash and make a goal of using (most of) them within a couple months!

  10. Wow lol. I think it would take me about a year to go through all that. Mostly because I have a hard time consistently using the same product. I'm impressed! Love this post :D

    1. Hehehe, thank youuu! I didn't start doing empties until last year because I didn't think I could do it, but you see one empty bottle and you get a high from it so you just keep going!
