April 2013 Beauty Box 5

April’s BB5 wasn’t one the most exciting ones, but despite the lack of excitement still remains one of my favourite beauty boxes to receive. BB5 never ceases to surprise me in the the variety and types of items in each box and April’s box was no exception!

La Fresh | Instant Body SootherDSC_0143

Wipe away stress and fatigue with these silky smooth essential oil-packed Eco Beauty wipes.

Thoughts: I don’t know if this is supposed to be a moisturizer or a some sort of energizing wipe that I guess I wipe on my body? I can’t see myself using it on the go since I would be fully-clothed and I would feel a little odd wiping my arm or leg down in public…

Full size: 24 wipes/$9.99

I received: 2 wipes/$0.83

Minxette | Brush HangerDSC_0144

Hang it, stick it, use it! This nifty little hanger makes taking care of your favourite makeup brushes easier than ever!

Thoughts: I actually found this to be a neat product even if it only holds one brush at a time. Just stick the end of the brush into the little opening and hang straight down to dry to avoid excess water in the ferrule. If you don’t have a space to hang this, there is a suction cup on the back so you can stick it to a bathroom wall!

Full size: Small size/$4.69

I received: *FULL SIZE*

Jean Pierre Cosmetics | Oil Absorbing TissueDSC_0042

Eliminate oil, banish blemishes and say goodbye to shine with this handy case of oil-absorbing tissues.

Thoughts: I use blotting paper fairly regularly when I’m at work to take the shine away followed by a spritz of hydrating spray so I know these will be used!

Full size: 50 sheets/$1.99

I received: *FULL SIZE*

Model Co | Illusion Lip PencilDSC_0043

Face it, there’s no better pencil for plumping up that pretty little pout!

Thoughts: This is a nude lip liner that is the colour of skin so that you can outline yourself the lips you REALLY want. Fun! I don’t normally use lip liner mainly because it’s a step I tend to forget in my makeup routine, but I have to give this a try!

Full size: 1.5g/$20.00

I received: *FULL SIZE*

Brazen Cosmetics | Eyeshadow in Birthday SuitDSC_0044

Brazen is back again this month with another shamelessly bold shadow to add to your collection!

Thoughts: “Birthday Suit” is the perfect name for this shadow as it barely shows up on me as anything but a hint of shimmer which is great for a casually day out I suppose. I think I’m just used to something bolder.

Full size: 5g/$7.49

I received: 3g/$4.49

Total Value of April BB5: $32.00

See? Nothing too exciting, but for a subscription that I am essentially paying ~$12 for I’m pretty pleased. I find the BB5 boxes especially fun to open because the products are generally fairly unique (i.e. brush hangers and brush guards) and there is always at least one full size product lurking around somewhere!

  1. Brush handles! That's actually really neat! I usually just makeshift something crafty -- or turn my brushes upside down in their brush guards. I definitely could have done with some blotting papers today haha my t-zone looked like a landing strip by the end of the day. Humidity is not my friend lol x

  6. I was happy with the blot sheets and the brush hanger although I haven't used either yet. The wipes left me kind of confused too, are they refreshing, moisturizing? What are they for?? lol. I guess I could just open one and try it haha
