Almay Picnic Before and After Make Up Look and Giveaway Worth $115! *Warning–Very Picture Heavy!

A few weeks ago, I was fortunate enough to attend the Almay “Practice Makes Perfect” Picnic event on a very rainy Vancouver evening. There was food, drinks and the cutest lunch bags filled with everything you see below! The first thing Jacquie Hutchison, National Product Trainer for Revlon and Almay, had us do was to *shudder* remove all of our makeup and start with a bare face! From here we were led through a well-thought out tutorial on how to apply a full face of makeup perfectly. Based on my before and after shots, you’ll see if I learned anything!

Start by priming your skin with a luminescent primer like Smart Shade CC Luminous Primer giving skin a somewhat pearly glow as well as taking away a bit of redness. Follow up the primer with Smart Shade Anti-Aging Skintone Matching Makeup (in shade 200 for me) which I thought would be far too light for me, but really was “smart” in matching my skin tone!

The primer has a slight purple tinge and shimmer as seen in the swatch above.

Next, it’s time for creating a beautiful smoky eye with the Almay intense i-colour smoky-i palette for brown eyes. I started with the brown, applying in CIRCULAR motions like Ms. Jacquie said to do and working my way up to highlighting my brown bone.

I was super excited to use the new Almay shadow softies in the look as well, but because I received the colour Seafoam I used it just at the outer corners of my eyes for just a hint of colour.

I completed my eye look with two coats of Almay Intense i-color Volumizing Mascara in Plum. Purple doesn’t show up too well on my black lashes which is too bad because I love purple!

Now it’s time to add some colour to the cheeks with Smart Shade Powder Blush Bronzer in Sunkissed! I thought this would be WAY to dark for me, but again smart shade was able to work its magic and give me the perfect glow!

Finally, a swipe of Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm in Apple a Day across the lips and the look is complete!
