Empties | September & October

I have been working on using up some hefty full-sized items and had temporarily forgotten about foil packets and such in my fervour. My brain seems to be all over the place lately that I can barely remember where I put my keys, let alone sort through my samples. I have also been flat out scared to mess with samples of skincare because my skin has been so reactive which makes up 80% of my samples. I guess, on my body they go?

SeptOct

1. Montagne Jeunesse Green Tea Peel Off Mask (1 piece)Thumbs up

Hehe, I love peel off masks and I am SURE I am not alone in my satisfaction of peeling these bad boys off my face! I have already reviewed this mask as part of the CBB Maskoff (here) and really enjoyed it. It’s a little messy to apply, but my skin felt clean and fresh after using it. At $1.99, this is a mask with 2-3 uses so what have you got to lose by trying it out?

2 & 3. Just the Goods Hand and Body Lotion in Peppermint and Unscented (10mL/each)Thinking smile

I recently received these in a Petit Vour box and yes they were nicely hydrating, but there wasn’t enough of a wow factor to make me purchase any more.

4. elf Eyelid Primer in SheerThumbs up

I call this primer “Old Faithful” because I first picked this up when I was a student and didn’t feel like spending the money on the Urban Decay Primer Potion. For the price, this stuff is great. This was my 2nd tube and I’m still very pleased with it. It holds both mineral and pressed eye shadows beautifully all day and I would totally repurchase if I came across it in the flesh as opposed to online.

5. Benefit Gimme Brow in Medium-Deep (3g)Thumbs up

This is an amazing product if you already have the some hair for eyebrows. It sort of just fills in the bare spots with fibres as well as darkens up your brows. I use this every day and in every FOTD on this blog. If I want even more prominent brows, I will use a pencil but Gimme Brow is the one product that has made me care about my brows even more.

6. Elizabeth Grant Biocollasis Complex Cell Vitality (15mL)Thinking smile

This was a favourite of mine from last year and I have been using it EVERY morning since February 2013! It has a tri-ball roller which is one of my favourites as I love the mini massage I get, but as for the actual treatment effects? I haven’t really noticed a difference which is why I could take this product or leave it.

7. Philosophy Purity 3 in 1 Cleanser (30mL)Thumbs up

This is my new favourite cleanser to pair off with my Clarisonic and will do a FULL review in the next couple of weeks. This is a cleanser, toner and makeup remover and it DOES NOT HURT when you use it on your eyes. My skin feels soft and not stripped after cleansing thanks to the 12 essential oils present in Purity. Love it.

8. Smith Farms Marshmallow Face Cream (60mL)Thumbs up

I will admit that I had to use the last half of this bottle on my body because I didn’t realize that the shelf life of this face cream was just 3 months and it has been FAR LONGER than that! I did review it here and was pleased with how it made my skin feel as well as the consistency. It is very soothing to the skin so if you have red or sensitive skin, this moisturizer might be the ticket!

9. Proactiv Green Tea Moisturizer (30mL)Thumbs down

I received this in one of the Shopping Channel bags and it just wasn’t moisturizing enough because it is oil-free. My skin felt hydrated at first and then tight within a few hours. I’ll have to pass on this one.

10. klean love Body Cream (30mL)Thumbs up

This is a peppermint-scented moisturizer and has a thick, body butter consistency thanks to shea butter. I have the full size of this already and always enjoy using it in the drier months.

11. Hydradew Mask (60g)Thumbs up

This is a holy grail product for me and I am currently on my third jar. It IS a mask, but I use it underneath makeup and as a sleeping mask. I even use it as a spot treatment for dry patches. This is an oil-free blast of hydrating sea kelp algae, glycosaminoglycans and a blend of 12 plant extracts guaranteed to help all skin types. I have friends that now swear by this because I forced them to use it. It also smells like melons!

12. Dewlux Face Kream (60g)Thumbs up

This is an anti-aging moisturizer with Coenzyme Q10 that is shea butter-based. It is quite thick, but still absorbs within an hour which is why I tend to use it at night OR even I’m SUPER dry. This also smells like melons!

13. Lush Whoosh Shower Jelly (100g) Thumbs up

I LOVE the smell of this SO MUCH. OMG. It’s lemon and grapefruit goodness to the max AND it wobbles! Definite repurchase because it’s so fun to use and smells so damn good!

14. Escents Aromatherapy Squeeze Wash and Bubble Bath (250mL)Thumbs up

Squeeze is a grapefruit and mandarin-scented bath gel that smells just as good as you would imagine. This is also one of my favourite aromatherapy scents from Escents and is just so refreshing and energizing that it’s a hard scent not to like.

15. Bioderma Sensibio Micelle Solution for Sensitive Skin (250mL)Thumbs upThumbs upThumbs up

I freakin’ LOVE this stuff even after trying other micellular cleansers. I still have yet to try the Marcelle and Sephora ones, but this one is my favourite. It truly feels like I’m cleansing with water, but it actually gets all the makeup off my face and eyes. I have SIX bottles as backup so that goes to show you how much I love it.

16. Lush Wizard Bubble Bar Thumbs up

I just reviewed this little guy (here) and I loved him! What girl doesn’t want to have a pink bath?!

17. Lush Sparkly Pumpkin Bubble BarThumbs up

The scent of this was totally up my alley (grapefruit and lime) and was something I have also recently reviewed (here). Your bathwater will literally have gold sparkles in it and have you mesmerized.

Total empties for September & October: 17

109 more empties to go until I make it to last year’s number! It’s not looking good with only 2 months left in 2014!

See you next month!
