NAILS | Abstract Brights #CBBxManiMonday

Ssshhh, but I haven't actually painted my nails in two whole weeks! I had pre-planned all of my July posts in the first two weeks due to some fluke organization on my part, but this week I'm back to my Sunday night paint schedule and now that I am doing #100DaysofSheetMasks again, I need to make sure my time for beauty rituals and posting is a bit more spread out! This month, our theme is using the #summernails hashtag on Instagram to inspire us and it was this abstract nail art that caught my eye as I had never attempted such a "messy" manicure before and would give me an opportunity to use all of my favourite shades from this summer's CBD Prismatic Collection!

As much as I hate painting my nails all white, it really did make the manicure pop a lot more. If I had been using fall shades, a nude base probably would have worked, but this was a fun manicure to do because even if you make a mistake, it can easily be worked into the design! Once I had on my white base, I just painted random strokes of all three colours and then used the dry brush stroke technique using black polish. I added some black dots with a dotting tool and that was it!

Nail polishes used:

Base coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in White*
CND Vinylux in Holographic* (neon pink)
CND Vinylux in Dimensional* (blue)
CND Vinylux in Ultraviolet* (fuchsia)
OPI Never Have Too Mani Friends* (black)
Top coat: CND Vinylux Gel Like Effect*
