SHEET MASK | FaceTory Sun Bae Soothing Mask

I will be honest that I haven't gone out in the sun much this year. This whole summer I have pretty much worked and stayed inside since I feel like I don't spend that much time at home. I had a ton of plans to outfit the patio with summer chairs and tables at the end of June and while I did get the patio cleaned up, everything in June fell to the wayside when Hemingway got sick. Since then, my motivations for getting things done have gone downhill and while I wouldn't say I've been wallowing and doing nothing, my picturesque view of a carefree summer has been tainted and I will always think of "Summer 2019" as one of loss. Throughout all of this, there have been small joys with friends and thankfully beauty which will always be a source of enjoyment for me.

Purchased by me

Sheet masking felt super therapeutic whenever I got sad and even seeing sheet mask packaging made me happier and I have said this so many times, but when it comes to cute packaging, FaceTory has some of the cutest original artwork on their masks I have ever seen! Everything they do is so cute and fun that I instantly feel more positive when I pick up one of their masks. I received the Sun Bae Soothing Mask in the August 2018 Lux Mask Box and figured that it would make the most sense to feature this mask here and now instead of in the dead of winter. This mask is an easy one with the main goal being to soothe and whip skin back into shape after a day out in the sun with key ingredients being aloe, jojoba seed oil and shea butter. While I do like that aloe is very high on the ingredients list, the fact that the preservative phenoxyethanol is in a higher concentration than the latter two ingredients is not ideal, but at least the concentration of fragrance is at the bottom.

Final verdict: I can only imagine how nice this would be after a day out in the sun. If you are looking just to soothe your skin, there are plenty of aloe sheet mask options out there, but if you are looking for something that soothes and also gives a ton of moisture and them some, Sun Bae was a nice little 2 in 1 for that! Personally, because of the Canadian exchange and the shipping fee, I wouldn't get this mask again unless there was a sale or some promotion to help me a little on cost because I do have easier-to-get alternatives in Canada like my MaskerAide masks, but other than that, I was happy with the overall skin results!
