SHEET MASK | Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Sheet Mask #100DaysofSheetMasks

Oh, the lovely Tatcha. This was one of the first truly beautiful skincare brands I came across when I first started blogging and in 2011, Tatcha was still relatively new to the skincare scene having only launched just two years prior. Their philosophy, packaging and products were new to the North American market and to this day, though they have some stiff competition in skincare, I still find the whole Tatcha experience to be quite Zen and almost romantic from opening up the packaging to using the product. While there are a few Tatcha products I enjoy, today's feature is all about the Luminous Dewy Skin Sheet Mask!

Purchased by me

When it comes to Asian skincare, it's all about the dewy skin and lemme tell ya, this mask accomplishes all of that and the journey to get there was pretty nice too! Described as a "silky soft, skin-fitting sheet mask that deeply delivers a healthy drink of ultra-hydrating botanical oils and extracts for a dewy glow in just one use", this mask is definitely an interesting fabric. It's soft, smooth and feels like a fabric I would want to wear for pajamas! The story behind the mask texture is that traditionally, Japanese women would brew plant botanicals into a rich elixir that was then soaked into kimino silk to create a sheet mask! How cool is that?!

Ingredients: Aqua/Water/Eau, Saccharomyces/Camellia Sinensis Leaf/Cladosiphon Okamuranus/Rice Ferment Filtrate*, Propanediol, Glycerin, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Diphenylsiloxy Phenyl Trimethicone, Squalane, Camellia Japonica Seed Oil, Sericin, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Germ Oil, Chondrus Crispus Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Royal Jelly Extract, Thymus Serpyllum Extract, Ziziphus Jujuba Fruit Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/Carboxyethyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium Edta, Parfum/Fragrance, Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol
*Hadasei-3

This mask is soaked in approximately 20mL of hydrating serum and though it does contain a silicone derivative, this is one of those cases for me where it's not the second or third ingredient on the list and the experience was nice enough for me to be okay with its inclusion.

Mask Summary:

Price: $16 CDN
Scent: Herbal/floral
Essence Type: White and milky
Duration: 15 minutes
Thickness: Thin
Mask Fit: Good on top half of the face, but kept lifting around the chin. I cut a slit at the chin so that the mask wouldn't bunch up
Tackiness: Medium, but tolerable. Like how my skin feels after a facial.
Hydration: SO GOOD.
Other Notes: The mask material is interesting because it is a microfibre-like material which almost had a bit of a bounce to it which made folding it down to make it stay in place a challenge.
I also spritzed my face first with the Tatcha Dewy Skin Mist and then again after I had removed the most and the glow to my skin was INSANE!

Final verdict: I am definitely buying this mask again during the upcoming Rouge sale because the glow was ridiculous and I loved the tactile experience of how the mask felt on my skin. If your skin is feeling and looking BLERGH, this mask will kick it in the ass and back into awesomeness!
