The brand Patchology is one of the coolest mask brands I have come across with their focus beginning over 10 years ago with patch technology for the medical field. Now, Patchology has peels, eye and lip gels, mud masks and of course, some very hydrating mud masks! Then, they did one of the coolest sheet mask collaborations I have seen by partnering up with Kim Chi of Ru Paul's Drag Race and featuring 4 of her top beauty looks with the designs being some of the most complex I have seen for a printed mask!
Purchased by me
All of the masks were called the "Fiercely Hydrating Facial Sheet Mask" and had the same ingredients so the differences between each mask really came down to the print so you will see my mask summary at the bottom after we get through these stunning looking masks!
Though these masks can still be purchased individually on the Patchology website for $7 CDN, I'm glad I picked up the "Lookbook" because it really was beautifully done and truly made me excited to "wear" each look on my own face without having to use makeup!
Ingredients are fairly decent with some interesting featured ingredients all before the halfway point of the list which is really all I look for in a sheet mask let alone a printed one.
Ingredients: Water (Aqua/Eau), Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Glycereth-26, 1,2-Hexanediol, PEG/PPG-17/6 Copolymer, Sodium Hyaluronate (hydration), Ceramide NP (boost skin's moisture retention), Hydroxyethylcellulose, Cellulose, Trehalose (brighten and smooth), Natto Gum (improving elasticity), Betaine, Sodium Acetate, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Carbomer, Allantoin,PVM/MA Copolymer, Disodium EDTA, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Bis-PEG-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, GlycerylAcrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Arginine, Ethylhexylglycerin, Fragrance (PARFUM)
Makeup Look: Crackle
Crackle was the first mask I tried and was my favourite out of the group!
Makeup Look: Blush
Makeup Look: Space
Makeup Look: Moon
Mask Summary:
Price:$7 CDN each
Scent: Fresh laundry
Essence Type: Light gel
Duration: Instruction say only 5 minutes which I think is too short so I stuck with my usual 20 minutes and they did not dry out.
Thickness: Quite thin considering the whole mask had a print on it!
Mask Fit: Pretty good with slight creasing around the cheeks that I couldn't flatten out.
Tackiness: High
Hydration: Intense
Other notes: Give yourself at least 2-3 hours before going to bed to let the essence sink in or your pillow will be super sticky!
Final verdict: Though I adored the prints, I thought the actual masks themselves were just ok. They were quite hydrating, but I found them to be verrrry tacky in finish. They say to use this as makeup prep, but I honestly don't know how foundation would sit. It may actually work out since the essence is so tacky, but I just didn't find it all that comfortable. Though this mask wasn't my favourite, I still look forward to trying more sheet masks from Patchology!
