Some sheet masks are just about being ridiculous and taking selfies so when I saw the #BestSelfie Fashion Angels sheet mask on Renee's blog earlier this year, I marched my ass over to Indigo.ca and found not just one, but two other printed masks that were calling my name! I mean, even the packaging is made to look like a phone complete with home button! How could I resist?!
Purchased by me
Fashion Angels is a tween lifestyle brand so a large chunk of their products involve mermaids, sequins, unicorns and glitter. So, really nothing too different from life in your 30s! They actually have a number of super cute sheet masks, but only these three were available online and I've been told that some are also available through Toys R Us.
#BestSelfie Printed Sheet Mask
The first mask I tried honestly had me laughing and why wouldn't it? The #BestSelfie Printed Sheet Mask contains avocado extract which when you look at the ingredients list doesn't really matter a whole lot since it's right at the end. These masks are all about skintertainment factor so I'm not going to focus much on skincare benefits because a real anti-aging routine doesn't involve crying rainbows.
Mask Summary:
Price: $6.95 CDN
Scent: Creamy and slightly sweet. I wouldn't really describe it as avocado, but then again I don't think avocados have too much of a scent.
Essence Type: Light and gel-like
Duration: 15-20 minutes
Thickness: Medium
Mask Fit: Had to cut extra slit in chin to avoid chin goatee.
Tackiness: Light
Hydration: Surprisingly good for a fun kid's mask!
Other notes: The fit was really stiff where the rainbows were since the print was thickest in this area. This mask was VERY funny though!
Photo of the Day Printed Sheet Mask
The Photo of the Day mask is intended to be more clarifying with its tea tree extract while I look like I have come from Coachella or some sort of festival, but again it's right at the bottom of the ingredients list albeit it is very short so it's probably in a higher concentration than other sheet masks I've seen with mile long ingredients lists!
Mask Summary:
Price: $6.95 CDN
Scent: Jasmine
Essence Type: Light and gel-like
Duration: 15-20 minutes
Thickness: Medium
Mask Fit: Had to cut extra slit in chin to avoid chin goatee.
Tackiness: Light
Hydration: Good
Other notes: Fit was actually a bit better on this one since the printed portion was just on the forehead which is a fairly flat surface anyway.
#CurrentMood Printed Sheet Mask
This mask was probably my least favourite both in fit and scent. Yes, it's shea butter, but I found the added peach fragrance quite overwhelming and artificial. The fit was also pretty disastrous and the pattern a bit weird.
Mask Summary:
Price: $6.95 CDN
Scent: Peach
Essence Type: Light and gel-like
Duration: 15-20 minutes
Thickness: Medium
Mask Fit: Terrible as the mask was so stiff from having the whole sheet be a mask so nothing was lying flat!
Tackiness: Light
Hydration: Sure, but I didn't enjoy the experience much.
Other notes: The pattern with the dog tongue sticking off to the side confused me at first and even after I figured out what was happening, I still didn't think the mask looked very cute.
Even though there were some hits and misses in this trio, I did look forward to wearing each one as there was something about unfolding a pattern and seeing how it translated to my own face! In terms of fit, Photo of the Day was best and in terms of FUN, #BesetSelfie wins! Hands down!
You can find these three Fashion Angels sheet masks on Indigo.ca!
